Had the set meal for two. The food was prepared fresh and on a rainy Sunday night in Sheffield transpired us to the Turkish sunshine. One of the finest meals I’ve had. The baklava was stunning- not too sweet and with a coffee was the perfect way to finish the meal. Will definitely be back.
don't be put off from the outside. The staff are friendly and the food tasty. We had the set meal for two (selection of hot and cold meze, selection of mains and baklava desert) which is very good value for money. The house red is very drinkable
We really enjoyed our meal at Istanbul, Sheffield. My wife and I had the set meal for 2 with a litre bottle of red wine. Nice bread and three varied dips to start. Squid rings, Sucuk sausage, Whitebait Barek and salad for second course. Lamb chops, chicken wings, lamb and chicken shish with rice and chips for the main and beautiful Baklava for desert. All plentiful and well served, the staff are really pleasant and helpful. Wine was great and very much need to wash down a great feast. £42 for everything is very worthwhile for a lovely meal in a clean, really authentic setting and we will be back very soon. Highly recommended!!!
Lovely food with friendly fast service reasonable prices I think if it's a special occasion decor could be different as find it abit fast food vibe inside.But in saying that food has never dissapointed .Definitely worth giving it a try .
Not been here for over a year nothing changes very busy place great kebabs. It was lunchtime very soon not a free table this place is so busy but we ordered and the food was here in no time at all. The kebab is so tasty it's as good as you get in Turkey the service is good the staff here are really nice. We definitely won't leave it do long next time.

Straightforward tasty grilled meats, fresh salads and delicious, varied starters. If you like this type of food, you'll really enjoy it here. Unfussy setting and decor, and friendly pleasant service. Only sat in (on many occasions) but note there's also a takeaway. It's about the food and relaxed atmosphere here.
Really nice food with high quality of service and friendly staff members that support you with your food choices and understand your taste. One of the best traditional Turkish dishes is sarma beyti.
I always visit this restaurant whenever my dad and I crave for Turkish food. The food is delicious and the service is always bar none outstanding. Great atmosphere and beautiful murals. I love listening to the Turkish music because it always makes me feel like I am actually there, as do the paintings. The restaurant is always immaculate and they provide a courtesy treat after your bill (either a lokum or a Bakalava. I wish they could extend this restaurant or move it to another location in town as I feel that it would equally be successful there too. Having said that, I do enjoy watching the view by the window. What is more is that because some of the waiters are native Turkish speakers, I feel that I can confidently order in basic Turkish, having learnt it from them. Long may their success continue. Visited on a Tuesday evening with the wife and 2 kids. Never been before so not expecting much. On arrival we were seated right next to the takeaway part of the unit, not a good start. However the service was good from the outset and more than made up for the Takeaway feel. When the food arrived, it was our main courses and the Mezes we ordered were not anywhere to be seen - now I must stress that there were maybe 5 other customers in the place at the time - so no excuse about being busy. To rectify the problem, we were given free deserts and ample apologies - take note other restaurants on how good customer service can fix a problem, the chicken chain across the road wouldn't have been as accommodating from my experience. Just to note, the kids said they would rather come here than the chaos that is Cosmo....so they did well in their eyes. Recommend the Sea Bass and Mixed Shish Kebab..
A warm welcome on a chilli Sunday in Sheffield. Friendly family atmosphere and fabulous feast of authentic Turkish cuisine - meze and meat feast! (washed down with Efes of course) :-)

Went there many times, never disappointed. Good kebab, chicken wings and my friend had lamb chops it was geeat test. Would recommend!
It's been almost 8 years that I am in Sheffield, Istanbul Restaurant has been one of my perpetual restaurant choice when it comes to Turkish food. With the delicious food and the traditional environment, I always felt satisfied and welcome. Last time I was there, I had lamb chop. It was more than enough for me with quality serving and portion; an excellent value for money meal. To those who are looking forward to try the restaurant, I am sure you wouldn't be disappointed.

Called here with my son after z local match. Food never disappoints and the staff are always cheerful. I had 6 lamb ribs with salad which I believe was about £7.50. Great salad as always lamb a little tough but very tasty. Even got to sit down for that price as there are about seats for probably 12 people if your just popping in for a re-fuel then back on the town. Excellent value for money.
