Poseidon Fish Bar

Popped in tonight for fish and chips for 6 of us and based on Google reviews I stopped here based on the excellent ratings. I'll be honest, stepping in the place I had slight second thoughts just for because the menu being a little sparse and decor being older, but I had nothing to worry about. Very shortly the Cypriot owner was taking my order and literally making me laugh as he took my order and made it fresh. Excellent food, he even let me try the chips and gave me a fritter for free whilst he made me fresh ones. The food was excellent and great value. The chips are some of the best we've had and the fish was as another review, fresh and not oilly etc. So in summary, don't pass this chippy up and ensure you use it or you will lose it! By far the best fish , chips and mushy peas me and my wife have had in a long time. Tried many fish and chip places across South Yorkshire and this is defienelty at the top. Chips are thick and fluffy . The fish was tastey , chunky , falls apart nicely and with the perfectly crunchy batter that isn’t swimming in oil like most places. The owner is very friendly and had a good chat with all the customers including myself. Happy customers. We will be returning.

wow called in last night as renting a cottage near by ,the owner George cooked everything fresh amazing ,the fish was white with no skin and not a drop of grease the chips with proper chips and we enjoyed the meal x Fantastic size portions and friendly service. definitely will visit again a lovely gem 💎 ✨️ xx
