The food was so good here. We had the carvery and it was excellent, we also ordered a meal off the menu which turned up quickly and had great reviews.
The drinks were excellent and the staff helped us when we asked for it to be made slightly differently.
The goat was quiet when we visited at lunchtime so there were loads of room and you got to pick your own table and order at the bar.
A few things were not available but what they did have was excellent.
The parking is free if going into the goat just don't forget to put your registration number in.
Came in today, could see the carvery was busy. Decided to give it a go, for the price we paid we were treated, great to see the young chef carving (stayed composed) very friendly when it came it our go and to others, put a great portion for me and my friend, very happy to see such passion. Special thank you to the kitchen team for working together and giving us a great experience. Will be back again very shortly :)))
Tasted amazing. Even had my friends pinch a slice each! Could do with the music back in the garden though...
I was sat at home needing to escape after searching several places I chose the goat, the best decision I have made in a long time. While I dined on my own the carvery was spot on and cooked to my perfection, the turkey, beef and roasties along with all the trimmings and veg we're good. Safe to say I enjoyed it and my salted caramel sundae. I enjoyed the whole ambience of it, food, service and atmosphere. Which is important when dining alone.
I used to take my mum for Sunday lunch every weekend at a pub in Basingstoke until she became unwell last year and passed away in April. I needed to find somewhere new to go for lunch and tried The Goat. Nice and easy to park and prices really good and decent Sunday roast. Really good and will definitely come back again.
We enjoyed our visit band the food was nice (although the peas were a little dry/over left). The staff were friendly. There was a shortage of pudding choice but we found something we liked and it was nice.
The food was lovely but you could see it had been sat out for a while, kids enjoyed the pizza and burgers, the roast dinner we had to wait for them to cook more pigs in blankets, and the veg was hard and had been sat out for ages. Needed to be more fresh. The roast potatoes were rock hard and over cooked.
Went on a Sunday lunch, had the carvery roast. Help yourself to vegetables, stuffing etc. Value for price. Drinks put the price up.
Lots of babies & small children, probably schools summer holidays. You don't pay for car park, as you are going in to use their facilities.
*****OUTSTANDING*****
Amazing all you can eat breakfast. Food was cooked well and hot. Decent filter coffee and choice of breads and spreads.
The staff are all friendly, approachable and extremely helpful. We were served by Liana and she was lovely, as newbies she was very nice. Lisa the chef was very nice too. Most definitely will be returning soon! Highly recommend
Very friendly staff and tasty food. Great value for money with large portions, well presented. Very easy to order and pay online. Even had some entertainment with the chef delivering a couple of onion rings on a big knife! Only downside is the decor which really needs some repair & attention.
