Excellent food in a charming, olde worlde pub! My wife and I were stopping in Sherborne just for the night, en route farther into the West Country. We stayed in a historic (1500s) B&B and then went in search of dinner. The White Hart was great. I had the firey chicken wings to start followed by salmon on a bed of rice seasoned with peppers and mangos. My wife had the gammon and chips and said it was the best she's ever had. I wanted Irish coffee afterwards, but she said she didn't have cream, so brought me the closest: a large cup with brandy (I could have had whisky) in the bottom and a carafe of coffee - not exactly what I wanted but it served its purpose. If I had to make a complaint, the service was a bit slow, but we were in no hurry. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend this place!

We visited today from Poole, there were 8 of us, staff were really lovely. Helpful, polite, food was amazing x good portion sizes, they couldn't have been more accommodating, honestly one of the nicest places I've visited in a while... beautiful desserts too
My husband and I had an amazing lunch at the white hart yesterday the burger is a must we both couldn’t believe the size of it and presentation was spot on highly recommend this pub if your visiting or local to Sherborne.
Very nice food. My wife and I took our close friend for a meal and he loved the steak pie.
Proper British pub with amazing atmosphere, great food and fantastic service from the staff.

Tastefully refurbished olde world pub with many nooks & crannies. 4 good real Ales.
Visited Sherborne in the winter and really wanted pie and mash. Tried quite a few places but they were either extortionate or were serving trendy food. Came across The White Hart. Only good things came from this;
The bloke behind the bar was possibly the friendliest and most helpful person I’ve ever met. Secondly, it was peaceful inside. It had cool Laurel Canyon vibes in The Snug where we were. And they not only served proper pie and mash, but the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever eaten.
If you want something more down to earth, it’s definitely the best place in Sherborne. Still dreaming about the pudding now….
