This place is a real hidden gem and the best food we have had in a long time! Highly recommend! They were great with our kids and we absolutely loved their dog. Would every week if we could.

Totally unexpected find in Shildon. Very interesting and different menu cooked by one of the owners who is from Sierra Leone and therefore had her own take on all the dishes on the menu. Both the chef and her husband are extremely friendly and made the visit even more memorable. We were fascinated to find that the first passenger railway in the world started outside the restaurant (which was a pub in those days) and passengers bought tickets actually in the room we were eating in. Well worth a visit and we'll be back soon

We've been with friends on several occasions now and are always blown away by the fabulously friendly and helpful staff, value for money and most of all the extremely tasty food. It's different to anywhere else, totally unique and so delicious. The atmosphere is great and they are happy to play diverse music where we often just get up and dance. It's the most welcoming restaurant we know and we have been to a lot of restaurants! It started with 4 of us going and our group has grown to 11, with no one wanting to miss out on such a brilliant night. Keep doing what you're doing! If you haven't been then give it a try, the more the merrier. PS saw one review about chewy meat, you were just unlucky but if you'd said at the time they would have exchanged it immediately. I've been to much more expensive places where customer service isn't a patch on Cape.

Really nice food, nowhere else selling food like this locally. Friendly staff. The building is an old pub and has maintained a lot of its character but with the addition of many Africa esque artefacts. Great value on a Wednesday, 2 courses for £10 per person.

Amazing place, we visited here for dinner and we felt so welcome and looked after the entire evening. The food was just delicious and varied, we were really happy with the wide range of vegan options, all very affordable too. We will definitely come here again.

First time visiting this place and will definitely be going back. The food was amazing and the owners and staff were super friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Can't wait to go back and try some more of the menu.

My partner and I visited during our holiday and had a wonderful and memorable evening. We were immediately welcomed by the owner, who couldn't do enough to help and recommend dishes to suit our taste from the menu. What a feast! Our player arrived, consisting of incredible lamb tagine, Durban curry and Jerk chicken, along with rice, plantain, coleslaw and the most tasty potato wedges. The main course was fantastic and we were then blown away by the best cheesecake and rice pudding we've ever eaten. The decor was fabulous and the ambiance very lovely. Service was attentive and warm and it was a treat to meet the talented chef and owner. We can't wait to return. Gary and Marie from Solihull.
