Used to be a hotel and still keeps some of that aura about it. Nice solid tables and chairs, plenty of seating if all sizes. Didn't eat was there for the reggae festival, DJ was playing some good tunes, enough to make us stop and pop in for a quick drink. Service was good didn't wait long to be served. Nice clean toilets
Superlatives don’t do it justice. We love the ‘Shoe’… There are one or 2 places not far away which I’d say are over-rated… Particularly for food. Not this place - it is an absolute gem. I’d go for the Skate every time but I’ve never had a bad meal. Great drinks, great staff, great atmosphere and if you hit it right, a great selection of entertainment including music, comedy & quiz! Lucky to call it our local…
Fabulous pub with great staff. We had a fantastic late Sunday lunch - can highly recommend the roast baguette. We will be back!
