We hadn't meant to eat there but had had a mishap with my car, so we took a chance. It was really quite busy but we were made welcome and the food was delicious! Very kind staff. Would definitely recommend 👌 My sausage and mash was the small amount appetite version! Great value.

We shared a delicious family meal here with a great selection of food. The interior was clean and cosy and a playground was included outside.

Popped in here twice in the last week. Once just for a drink, once to eat. On both occasions the staff were really friendly and helpful. The real ale was excellent and the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. The whitebait was particularly good.

If you're looking for passable food, daft laughs, and an affable bar maid then look no further than the cannon. As an avid Gooner, I first visited due to the name (and also as it's down the road from my mates mam and dad's), and I have to say I was welcomed with open arms (not literally). The guest ales are superb, and the bi-weekly quizzes are nothing short of groin wreckers every time. Honestly, if you're in the area I urge you to stop by. Although do check opening times first as they caaaan tend to be closed more than I would like, hey, can't have everything. Keep it up! Ta

We’re very fortunate to have a family run village pub. So much work done inside & outside beautiful new paint work on the whole pub. We’re local & support this pub as they work extremely hard to provide high quality food, drinks & a immaculate bar, tendered beer gardens. It’s a pleasure to see so much hard work & quality food & takeaways Monday night Pizza 🍕 from this pub . It’s going from strength to strength with food & quality, ownership & staff . Highly recommended, family, couples, skittles, quizzes, bbq ., offers & special night’s & weekend events.

Excellent food! Ploughman's lunch today, delicious. This dish lunchtime only, but other food served on the evening also. Well worth visiting.

Monday night Pizza’s A lovely welcome from the landlady a fair selection of beer/large on tap. We went for the Monday night pizza and wasn’t disappointed it was a little busy due to Bank holiday & school half term, was kept informed by staff on timings due to a few tables in front and a couple of takeaway orders. Garlic prawn was just that loaded with garlic prawn and cheese best I’ve had for years. The bbq meatballs was another hit with the family along with chunky chips. All in all a pleasant atmosphere for food and drink.

Did not have food here yet! Went for a few pints on a Sunday with my Dad and the atmosphere was so relaxing inside and also there was a table quiz going on, which I believe was only £1 to enter.. we did not take part that night, but would return again and possibly do so on another Sunday evening... Beautiful nicely lit pathway outside leading to where we sat.. Also, a pool room outside separate to the bar & Lounge was not active that night but looked like a nice space.. would highly recommend for a pint.. and cannot wait to try the food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Really nice place to stay if not staying long as I stayed with my partner for one night in June to see my Nan in Rose Lawn care home in Sidmouth, very cheap & breakfast included & great if you love staying in the pub. Staff were great, food was ok but the breakfast was amazing & tasted good. Not much to do round the area but good for a walk if you wanted some fresh air but lovely little town & street very quite xx
