Found this by accident but what an amazing find. The food was outstanding, very well priced and the service could not have been better, nothing was too much to ask for from Emma and the rest of the staff in the bar and restaurant. The menu had a great selection and also the specials board. This is a community run pub and we were given the story of how it came about 10 years ago. I'm sure it will be a great night on you're anniversary celebration on the 19th August. Thanks for a lovely evening.

We stayed overnight here while attending a function at Slayley Hall.
A great welcome on arrival and very accommodating.
The accommodation is very clean, comfortable, with some lovely touches and is separate from the pub so late access wasn't a problem. (If you need a taxi from slayley hall, book well in advance).
Breakfast is continental style and self-service, but loads of options and choices.

We arrived at 7pm to be greeted by such lovely members of staff Tracey & her team were such great hosts.
We had a complex dietary requirement which was no hassle at all to the chef.
The food was absolutely amazing, I’m a big lasagne fan and have eaten plenty as it’s my go to meal but this one was the best by far, full of meat and so tasty.
The the accommodation is separate from the pub and is really lovely with lots of little homely details. Very clean and comfortable with beautiful views.
Was passing and stopped for a quick beer. Very friendly young woman behind the bar, very welcoming to my dog (treat and water offered) and a well-kept pint, too. I'll definitely stop next time I'm in the area.
Food is great and good beer. Staff look after you. All round fantastic pub.

Food was great. Proper home cooked style meals and we all emptied our plates. Service was great too
Fabulous food and service. Steak pie was spectacular. Lovely quality traditionally home cooked food. Good portions and not covered in pea shoots. Highly recommend. Staff were lovely too. Worth booking as we called in at 6pm and got the last table in the pub. Busy for a reason. Extremely good value too.
The only dining option in Slaley. We were staying in nearby Rye Hill Farm and ended up having our meals on both days here.
The staff is very friendly and amiable. Helped me choose my ale.
The food is excellent too, and I felt it was reasonably priced.
On day 1, we went for chilli beef and Crown Pie. The chilli beef was nice and crispy with a tangy sauce.
The pie along with the mash potato tasted really good. It was slightly burnt on the edges, but no complaints.
On day 2, we went for the special of the day - sticky lamb potato cakes with garlic dip. Crunchy and tasty, it worked really well with the dip.
For mains, we went for the cumberland sausage. This was served with ample gravy and mash potato.
Would recommend!
What a gem! Amazingly attentive and helpful staff, gorgeous food and a welcoming atmosphere. Absolutely made our stay in Slaley!
