It is a green king pub, has a beer garden which can be accessed around the back if you are in a wheelchair. There are a few vegetarian options on the menu. I like the fact it has the calories noted for each meal as I need to be mindful with pre diabetes. They have a few real ales on tap. It was reasonably quiet when we went on a Monday evening so easy to get a table.
Wonderful place for a meal. Friendly staff ,lovely atmosphere and settings. Highly recommended.
The Wharf Tavern is an excellent place to get a nice cold beer from, the staff are really nice and friendly too. I've left 4 stars because we only had a drink and not a meal. The food smelt and looked extremely nice, so we will definitely visit again but next time we'll have a meal (and update accordingly).
Thank you...
A group of 6 of us had lunch there for the first time on 18 October. All of the food was good quality, well cooked and hot when brought to our table.
Thank you to the very efficient and friendly Victoria plus chef Chris for making this a very enjoyable visit, We will return
We have made two visits to this pub recently. Both were good experiences. The staff were most helpful and welcoming. The food was excellent both in quality and quantity. The choice of beers and wines was wide. We recommend this pub
Dog friendly Motorhome stopover on the way back Up North. Car park not desperately flat but ok for a night. Good food and excellent selection of beers. Bit noisy til closing time but to be expected. Backs on to a canal so great for a dog walk.
I didn't eat, I just popped in for a pint. I loved it, the staff were attentive, the beer was amazing. The place itself is clean, tidy, with a lovely beer garden. The menu looks nice, so I'll be definitely taking my family there as there's something for all. Great place, see you soon 😊
Nice pleasant establishment in Hockey Heath on the canal, food is available from the set menu as you would expect from most pubs, decent selection of liquid refreshments and snacks.
Although having recently found out that GREENE KING is now Chinese owned, it's now the end of the road for me and these establishments.
Refurbished and looking good, particularly at the rear where it abuts the canal. One star missing due to indifferent coffee. Dogs welcome but must be on lead. Good food variety in a proper dining room. Worth a visit in conjunction with a canal walk. Towpaths look to be in good condition in both directions.
Just went for a drink first time in over 10 years staff were friendly and the place had a good atmosphere I'm sure I will be back soon the food coming out looked good but can't comment on quality hope they cater for vegetarians as I might try the food next time
