Lovely restaurant in a fantastic hotel. Our only meal here was breakfast and our full Scottish breakfast is excellent.
Breakfast was also well done. In the evening the restaurant and bar are packed. This is obviously a place to go. Prices good.

A very impressive meal in an atmospheric setting , service was superb from the 2 managers and the young professional staff,the food was excellent and well presented , plates were not overflowing but there was enough that we didnt feel cheated , I had the Burrata to start with Balmoral chicken for mains and the cheese platter to finish , all beautifully presented , perfectly cooked and just sensational , its not cheap but you are paying for quality , restaurant was packed on a cold Sunday night and I cant recommend this highly enough
A great hotel that never dissappoints! Impeccable service, spotless rooms; warm cozy low light ambience throughout which was lovely and felt premium. Plenty of parking spaces. Sign up their loyalty scheme and book directly for the best and exclusive prices. Jack at reception was very attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Queensferry village and viewpoints to the three bridges are very close by. Great amenities, fresh linen, multi USB ports by the bedside and great shower.
Plenty of parking spaces available and the food was exquisite. Will certainly return!
My wife and I stayed here with my daughter as a last minute getaway. We were so impressed by this hotel, right from the minute we walked in to the moment we left everything was perfect. The staff are so friendly and attentive to us it was a brilliant experience. We booked an executive room and the decor was really well finished and spacious enough for the three of us. We also used the restaurant and the food was so good. The Fillet steak was cooked to perfection and so tender. The scallops were delicious. We also stayed for breakfast and it was awesome too. All in all we are glad we chose the Dakota and would have no hesitation in booking it again for another night soon. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so welcoming.
Friendly, lovely food .not the cheapest but worth the treat
Had a fantastic 3 course dinner at Dakota Bar & Grill Edinburgh! To start, we had the Prawn and Calamari Tempura which was beautiful and cooked perfectly. We then had steaks for mains: I opted for the fillet and my husband chose ribeye. The fillet was absolutely outstanding! Cooked to perfection and was unbelievably tender. The red wine list to match our steaks was brilliant, and complemented the steaks perfectly. We then chose desserts to share: vanilla and honeycomb ice cream, and apple tart. Again, these were faultless and throughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend to others, and we will definitely be returning!
We had an evening meal as part of our overnight stay at the Dakota. It was absolutely fantastic, and staff were very attentive. We wouldn't class ourselves as fine diners but we really enjoyed what we had. Would recommend and we would go back here for a treat.
Enjoyed a client dinner as we were staying at the Dakota and wanted to treat our guests.
I ordered the fillet which was tender and cooked perfectly, and the chicken ballotine and fish and chips looked fantastic.
My colleague had never tried haggis and our maitre de overheard and brought us some small breaded haggis balls. Fantastic product and service.
Also had the vegetarian breakfast and my colleague had eggs benedict the morning after.
You get what you pay for mostly, and both the dinner and stay were to me good value.
This is our second Dakota visit ( Glasgow...see review and Edinburgh this review) Nice to have a standard to rely on.
This vist had a couple of issues the rooms air con had not been turned on by housekeeping and it was really hot inside and outside so not even opening a window would help.
The night manager came up straight away and sorted the Air con but its a passive Eco system, not a freeze ya tips off ( gotta love autocorrect 🤣 ) Derek ya 💎 😍 after a hour he checked with us and the room was still hotter than a hot tub, but without the champs and bikinis TBH noone wants to see me in a 👙 anyway.
Derek had a room that was chilled but it was a two room suite 🤔,I ran soooo fast my tattoo's fell off.
Dakota sets the bar high and if its a wee bit lower than you were hoping for, they will fix it.
We're off to the Euro Central next .

This is where you go when you just want the best. Until you experience the Dakota you are only guessing at what it might be like. Everything we selected was very well prepared and had exceptional flavor.
