Had an early dinner. The conservatory is lovely and bright with well spaced out tables.
The scallop starter was tasty, as was the soup - although it was far too hot!
The chicken pie and halloumi & chips were both very nice, especially the peas - really different and tasty.

Great service, deservingly busy restaurant, highly recommend the scallops and black pudding starters!
Burgers had a lovely and unusual beetroot relish which really cut through the beef. I usually prefer french fries to chips but the thick cut chips were very nicely cooked and light, rather than heavy and oily.
The beef and fish were also reported as excellent. The cheesecake for dessert was light and creamy, with a lovely caramel apple combination.
Beautiful Saturday lunch! Two courses and coffee, absolutely delicious. The pub itself is very nice and friendly and our waitress was lovely. We will definitely be back.
I can tell you quite a bit about this place going back some years but won't bore you with too much detail. In short this place has gone from being a somewhat sordid often struggling village pub to a really successful and cosy little establishment thanks to it being in the hands of someone willing to invest in turning it around making it very smart and attractive. Diners and drinkers alike will enjoy the excellent food and drink to be had. Well worth a visit if you haven't already been.
Visited for lunch with friends for a special occasion everything was perfect the atmosphere, selection of drinks food was extremely delicious recommend black pudding starter and seabass main pudding were yummy too. Service was excellent staff were friendly and knowledgeable . The Blue Bell is definitely somewhere we will definitely return too. Thank you.
arrived 1:30pm for our prebooked table for three on thursday. the restaurant area was already three quarter full. the service was good and food arrived on table was fast. the dishes we ordered were delicious. one drawback was the protion of meals were not enough for big eaters like me. I had to order extra chips.
Excellent food and service, they’ve done a great job of adapting to outside eating, well spaced tables and heaters.
Great options of food, love the “of the days” ideas! We opted for the ploughman’s yet again with a few extras.
We would have stayed for desserts but it was a little cold out and spitting with rain.
Best food I've had in Derbyshire so far ,nice clean place modern but traditional polite well turned out staff ,very impressed
Been coming here for a few years. Absolutely our favourite restaurant in the area. Lovely food and great service
Highly recommend
We had booked our table for 7 persons, for 1:30pm today. After obtaining drinks at the bar, we where quickly shown to our table, in the lovely restaurant. However, after being given our menus our orders were not taken until 2:00pm. Not sure just how many staff in the kitchen and how busy it was, but the food appeared slow in arriving. But it has worth waiting for and we all agreed it was amazing, except the risotto which was a little bland. Nobody enquired if everything was in order! 4 of us had desserts and all were excellent. But even with us sitting near the coffee machine, nobody asked if we wanted coffee. The bill arrived and we waited to pay, but ended up going to the bar to do so. It was a great shame about the service. The young staff very pleasant, but they did not appear to have anyone in charge.
