Fantastic food with service to match! Having spent the afternoon searching for somewhere to eat in Southampton (that wasn't a burger or pizza), we stumbled across some Instagram posts displaying beautiful dishes from gatehouse 1883. The flavour of the food did not in anyway disappoint, it was really, really delicious. I highly recommend the asparagus and pea starter, the veg was fresh and delicate. The service was also first class, relaxed but attentive! The chef also came and had a chat with us at the end of the meal and when we spoke to him and realised the passion he had for the restaurant it was no surprise the food was so fantastic! Definitely recommend!!

Amazing service and ambient atmosphere, live music and gorgeous panoramic view of the sunset. Food is as good as it looks, gorgeous fish starter and main. Highly recommend. Bought dinner vouchers as a gift before leaving

First time at Gatehouse 1833, we were looked after by Helen, a friendly aprocable well-presented waitress who took care of us all afternoon, lovely lady and a real asset to Gatehouse 1833, the food was amazing, would recommend to anyone and will definitely be coming back. Thank you.
