The Cowherds - Southampton - Photo album

I have visited many times but I am amazed I have never left a review! I really enjoy this pub. I love the history it’s seeped in. The food is great too. It’s traditional pub food. Only tiny issue is that parking could be a bit tricky.
The food was delicious!! But always check with the salads though... my salad was missing 3 ingredients! Other than that everything else was delicious. And staff was very friendly.
First time visiting, waited a least 10 minutes for a waitress but then decided to order via the App which was easy enough, food was OK although main took a while to be bought out, good selection on menu, would return again for food and drink
Excellent place to eat and good prices the staff where exceptional, my daughters order didn't specify chili's in the curry as it said a korma sauce and she's awfull with anything spicy but they re did her something else with no fuss and quite quickly. An overall great experience and I'd definately r
Late Sunday afternoon, overtaken by the desire of a good old British roast dinner, but where to go! Turned up at the Cowherds, and hey presto problem solved, while most places were saying no. The roast itself as really good even though it was something like 5pm on a Sunday, so we'll done the Cowher
Came here for dinner on a Saturday, service was pretty fast once we'd placed our orders, but was quite slow to get to that stage. We weren't informed of what was not available off the menu so by the time we ordered, 3 of our choices weren't possible. Despite this, the meal was great, theres a relax
Arrived without booking but luckily there was one tiny table for 2 left. It was fate I'm sure because the standard of the food was exceptional! Loved everything about it. Beautifully presented, full of flavour. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive waitress; the chef and the team, thank
I went for a lunch on Saturday and it was a good experience. Its a country pub just on the outskirts of the city in Southampton. They have parking although a bit limited, but it's free and easy to access. It's a big popular pub so waiting to be seated took a while despite booking ahead. The tables a
My friends and I have gathered here so many times that I feel I have to sing the praises of The Cowherds. It is by far my favourite place in Southampton. The food is excellent, and they are constantly updating their menu so you can taste seasonal flavours. The brownie is my favourite dessert on the
Food was amazing! Service was a bit slow, they have their own app for ordering and no cell signal in the building... so we had to flag someone down, but once we had a server'sattention, Service was on point! Prawns were amazing, sea bass was fantastic, and I would definitely make it a point to go ba
We had a lovely lunch meal at The Cowherds. This is a pub I have visited many times and have seen it go through highs and lows. The food was good and the service was fantastic. Agnes was very kind and friendly and was brilliant with our young diners. We had a slight issue with our children’s meal wh
Really great food, served quicker than expected by friendly helpful and informative staff. Would recommend and will visit again.
Was part of a 90th birthday celebration The personal service we received from a lovely lady who name I can not recall was amazing. The food was great and arrived in good time. The sea bass lacked a bit of flavour but the rest of the evening was great.
An absolute gem! A beautiful original pub that offers a variety of dishes, the burgers are delicious. The service is excellent. Every little corner is cozy, there are fire places in different areas. I will go back next time I am in Southampton.
Second time we have eaten lunch recently and both times were excellent. We asked for a table near a window, and we were seated in a nice light area. Food and service were great, We had an American guest with us he really enjoyed his visit to the Cowherds.
Visited today for a roast dinner. Food was incredible. We had starter, main and pudding and everything was fantastic! The service was brilliant, food came out quickly and the staff were really on it. We had a lovely table near the window at the front with our little doggy . They have doggy treats, w
Excellent food. A very attentive, helpful and knowledgeable waiter. Nicely spaced tables. My only minor negative is that, probably owing to our visit being at a busy time, there was a bit of a wait for our food.
Luke was an outstanding waiter. He catered to our request to change seats and regularly checked back with us to see if we needed anything. The food was good and the atmosphere terrific.
Dropped in here after visiting Winchester. Waitress Sky was able to find us a table outside as Lesley needed to eat being diabetic. Check out girl at bar Maria was very helpful and Lisa brought our lunch to our table. All very friendly but professional. Nothing was too much. Happy to have a quick ch
