Best food in the area by far 5*+, came across this place by chance. Food was delicious 2nd to none , Steak Pie & Steak were excellent. Quality of service was unparalleled. Everyone was so friendly even got to meet the chef who came out to ask if everything was ok. Epic beer garden ample parking & excellent atmosphere
Great food, good portions, and well priced.
Staff are very friendly and the pub is very dog friendly. Disabled access is good, and with a few minor level changes, it's all on one level, including the loo's.
The Guinness is well poured and fresh, absolutely no complaints will keep visiting.
Food was very good. You can eat inside or out in the garden. They have a play area for children in the garden. Obviously many people eat there due to the number of tables available. The music was pleasant and even the bar area was calm even with the game going on. Family friendly.
We were staying in the area for 2 nights and found this little gem the first night, close to our hotel.
Tonight we popped back for dinner as the menu looked good. So much to choose from we couldn't decide what we wanted. Finally decided on the Hunters Chicken and the Steak Pie.
Couldn't fault a thing. The food was amazing as was the service. An added bonus, they do Shipyard on tap.
If we are staying in the area again we will definitely be paying a visit again.

Plenty of seating inside and outside with a car park!
Beautiful beer garden to the rear and outdoor seating to the front. Good range of drinks and ciders and bar snacks.
Only downside was that bar food stops serving at around 2pm which was a little frustrating.

Went for some food and a drink here for the 1st time. We both had the lasagne and couldn't fault anything. Chunky Chips perfectly cooked, great side salad with dressing and a beautiful lasagne, even got a piece of garlic bread thrown in. I asked for tartar sauce for my chips, but food was so well seasoned I used nothing, not even salt which has never happened. Will 100% be back and also recommend.

We visited for the first time whilst on holiday. Dog and child friendly traditional pub. The garden is a bit noisy with traffic, but is ok to use. The food was nice and presentable. We like crunchy chips, but if that isn't a preference others may find them too hard. Very friendly, helpful staff who happily assisted when I asked for something I could put with the vegetarian burger I ordered. I noticed another review mentioned it was bland as it is literally burgers and a bun with no relish or salad. I asked for salsa and sour cream which was kindly given and made a big difference to the overall taste and texture.
What a great pub. Staff are friendly and helpful. The meals well.i had liver, and to be honest, it was the best o have ever had. The pork chop in the mushroom sauce was so good. Anyone stopping in the holiday inn needs to come here. Thank you for your company.
