The Yellow Welly, oh, what a wild adventure in café experiences! The staff, as welcoming as they are, must have some secret contest going on for “who can be the most ever so slightly abusive.” It’s like they’re in a constant battle of wits with the customers, or maybe just me! and you’re just along for the ride. But honestly, it adds a dash of humor to your morning caffeine and baguette fix.
Now, let’s talk about the food. It’s so good that you might consider moving into the café permanently. Every dish is a taste explosion, and you’d be willing to trade your first-born for their full English breakfast, And the best part? It won’t cost you your first-born because it’s incredibly well-priced.
But, there’s a tiny rain cloud in this sunny review. Allison Bolam bless her heart, who dropped a two-star rating based on cost, nothing about the service or food quality. It’s like she’s stuck in a time machine, reminiscing about the 1950s when a cup of tea was a shilling. Come on, Allison!, It’s a bit like giving a five-star hotel two stars because the minibar isn’t free. The world has evolved since then! Let’s not fault local businesses for keeping up with the times. A big thank you for looking after me and all your loyal customers come rain or shine. All the great reviews are a testament to The Yellow Welly.

Popped in for breakfast whilst in the area.
Great food as always, friendly staff, good local atmosphere.
If the locals use it, why wouldn't everyone else.
Free parking as well, whats not to like?

I only popped in to buy a sausage & egg baguette, while in the area, it’s located in Shamrock Quay.
There is a menu & it all looks good, catering for all tastes.
It’s a basic looking cafe, none of your thrills or ostentatiousness but it’s clean & just does what it says on the tin.
There were a couple of people sat at tables eating, so I imagine it attracts locals as well passers-by like myself & sailors.
It’s all cooked & prepared in front of you, I waited about 10mins & in that time others had came in & ordered.
There’s plenty of pay park but no idea of the charge.
Worth a visit if you’re hungry or have the need for a cuppa.

Fantastic coronation chicken baguettes. I don't normally choose coronation chicken, but these were recommended and didn't disappoint

Meet Vicky. Or not, she is a bully. 🤷♂️ Love the yellow welly. Great, simple, tasty… and the food it good too. Kelly and her team always greeted with a little bit of aggression and abuse. Can’t think of a better way to start my day. Oh, and ask for a cheese omelette baguette, it’s a winner 🥇

On entering this establishment you are met with a very warm and friendly welcome. The ladies are willing to alter the menu to suit individual customer requirements. They were jovial and happily spoke to all the customers. The highlight of my visit today was when a customer kept changing his mind and the two ladies gave a chorus of The Spice Girls song Tell Me What You Want. The other customers embraced the fun and the gentleman himself was thrilled to be sung at. Today I witnessed customer service and customer care at its very best. The food was cooked to order and was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make the customers visit a memorable one. I will certainly be back and will have no hesitation in recommending this delightful cafe.

Now where do I start?! This place is the best place on earth. The food is amazing and so is the customer service. One employee which I think the name of the employee is Vicky was the nicest person ever. She cooked my sausage baguette to perfection and I would love to say a big thank you to her!
