This place always has a great atmosphere. The events held here are always fun and enjoyable. Definitely a great place if you aren't into the whole teeny bopper vibe and just want a high quality pub with a nice relaxed vibe. Garden is great and the staff are always polite and friendly :-)
Was there 23rd March 2017, for there new menu launch. Great little pub, polite and friendly staff, good selection of real ales and food that will grace the best of pub food in Southampton. Look forward to going there again.
Really enjoyed the first vegan night at this very friendly pub. Food was lovely and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful.
Wheelchair access was difficult, I needed help to get in and help to get to the toilet (I can walk a few steps with assistance), but once inside I could get around very well.
Really hope they do another night like this one, or even better to put some of the things we tried tonight on the regular menu! The fish pie and the battered sausage were my favourite (our group of three tried everything between us, tapas style). Price was good too!
Always a great pint, and lovely to sit in the sun. Had the vegan nachos and they were SO GOOD, loads of jalapeños, loads of dips, was delicious. Facilities are clean. Staff are friendly, although service isn’t the fastest, and the prices arent the cheapest, but still good. Really great pub.

Was expecting a sedate old man pub (which is the vibe it's given when going past it in the day). Was quite lively, with all manner of people belting out Spice Girls and Queen. It was good fun. I'd consider going again.
Didn't get food ofc so I can't comment on that.
We had a very enjoyable time here on Sunday. We ordered a variety of the the Sunday roasts (lamb, beef, vegetarian etc.) and found all of them to be very tasty. The staff were so friendly to us all and the atmosphere was friendly. I would definitely recommend!
Great venue, lovely staff and a good selection of pub food classics, draught cider, lager and ale. A great supporter of the local Music scene with a weekly open mic and regular live acts at the weekend.
I wanted to update my review after some time since I last visited.
I have been to this place on and off for many years. Always received a nice welcome.
It’s got a traditional style, award winning food, plenty of seating with stools and wingback chesterfield chairs. There’s also, an outdoor rear patio area with more outdoor bench seats at the front.
There is also a high level of cleanliness throughout together with hand sanitizer’s available. I wish to pay tribute to “Kat” for this. And, more recently the outstanding fundraising for the people of Ukraine as well as providing supplies.
I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a quick pint or a Sunday lunch.

SUCH a cosy pub!! Jazz night. Loved their performance, which was spontaneous and so incredible. One just knew that legends were gracing us with their presence.
I have been here a few times and it never fails to disappoint. It has amazing and welcoming staff, great vibes and delicious food. I had the steak platter tonight (new on the menu) and it was a variety of beautifully cooked steak and also reasonably priced. Honestly could not recommend it enough. I will be back
I went for Sunday roast with two friends this Sunday. The food was tasty and abundant. I’d add some greens though. The service good as well. Bravo.
