St James Chippy - Southampton - Photo album

Come here quite regularly, never been disappointed. Rarely a long wait, food is usually cooked to order and portion sizes are generous. Service with a smile, always aim to go here if I fancy chips.
Great chippy. Friendly, family run business. Good sized portions and great food.
Not as good as it used to be, batter was quite thick but last time it was light and fish was flaky
Highly recommend this chippy. Catered for our quiz night (37 people) on Saturday. Food was ready on time, hot and I had so many comments about how good the fish and chips were! Big thank you to the team at St James Fish Bar.
Great place to go and get fish and chips. Good quality, didn't find it too greasy. Staff very friendly and chatty. Good portion sizes. The wait can be a little long as it's very popular. Definitely would recommend!
Great fish and chips, warning you get lots of chips. So a large chips is a large chips.
Newly refitted and new owners. Glad to say still one of the best chip shops in the area.
They do a gluten free menu! We are so happy about this and our coeliac son happily had fish and chips without any ill effect. All chips are cooked in a gluten free fryer and there is a gluten free menu for other items too. Well done St James Fish Bar! We’ll definitely be back!
One of the best fish and chips (and saveloy) that we've ever had, lovely tasty batter on the fish, great chips and a perfect saveloy (not dry or sat in salt water for hours as we've had at other places). Also great value for money. No other fish and chips place in Soton even comes close. We've found
It was the 1st time I've purchased Fish and Chips from this chippy and I have to say I was very impressed. I did read all the reviews 1st and they were right. Clean, masks worn, fresh fish and chips, they give you large portions and chips lovely and yellow not oily or black bits. Highly recommend,
Went there about 2 weeks ago, last time it was under the previous owner and really liked the service and food. New owners are very friendly, plus give an excellent service. Also the food was also as good as last time. The chips were as good and the fish was also good. Batter was crunchy not soggy an
Really good fish and chips with cheese. I went in when they were closing, but they still served me with a friendly manner!
Very friendly staff willing to.go extra mile. Generous portions and always fresh. Happy to even peel more potato if close to closing time. Never disappoint new menu with kebabs is great and good prices
This is my local fish and chip shop and I've been coming here for years, and I would always tell people it was the best chippy in town. Since the refurbishment and new ownership I hoped they would live up to their previous quality and they have, and more. The fish is even better, the chips are just
Great size fish - not with excessive batter as some do, which was great! All cooked freshly and still hot by the time we drove home!
Best size Cod large and great beef onion pies (not in the microwave) chips are the when they just been cooked.
WOW....... best chippy since I was a kid growing up in the 80s. Massive portion, fresh chips and the pea fritter was outstanding! Popped in here due to the reviews and really impressed! Found my new fav chippy!! The staff are full of smiles and happy too which makes a change. Excellent!!
