Used this shop for the last few weeks as I considered them to be the best in the area. Went in again today and something was clearly different. Chairs and tables nicely placed outside, the till had been moved to a better position, the staff had changed and the Covid screen had gone and it was a much better atmosphere. The best part though was the food. 2 large cod and medium chips were absolutely amazing. We don’t usually like change but we both have to agree it was the very best we have had, well done chaps 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Excellent place for Fish and Chips, cooked to order. I go there once a week on a Thursday or Saturday. Service is never less than good and friendly, even when they are busy. Just be patient and they'll get to you. Parking is out front. At this moment [early 2022] they are going through a tougher time as the road has been partially closed for 5 months, due to roadworks, and the shop is less easy to get to. But do persist, it's worth it. And it helps them too.
EDIT: 30-09-2023. Renamed "The Big Catch". New owners have been in place a few months. Have to admit that I stopped going. The quality had dropped through the floor and prices had gone up. However, curiosity recently got the better of me - and quality has improved. It's not quite as good as before, but it is acceptable now for me. Prices are the same but now it's beginning to be worth it again. It's early days, so whereas once this shop would get a 4.5/5.0 it now gets a 3.5/5.0 with the hope that it gets better. I'll pop by every once in a while. Just not every week like before.

Absolutely incredible! It’s so hard to find excellent chippy chips but these guys have done it!!! Would travel down from London for them as they are phenomenal! The battered sausages are the best we’ve ever had! Really chuffed to have stumbled upon you, thanks so much for a really great dinner!

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was freshly prepared and was of a good quality. The fish and chips were tasty and crispy. And the prices were reasonable. Will give repeat business.
Fish cooked fresh every time and SO delicious with crispy batter and beautiful white fish. The staff are lovely too. The very best in the area by far. Thanks guys.
At long last, my search for a proper Fish & Chip shop is over. Lovely fish (and a great range) and great chips, just delicious. All cooked to order by friendly efficient people.
We only found out recently that this place does Gluten Free and since then it’s the only place we go. Reasonable prices good size portions and friendly staff. They also use cardboard boxes and not plastic. Will continue to use and recommend especially to those who are GF.
Best fish and chip shop in Southampton by a country mile! Amazing veggie burger and perfectly cooked chips, with friendly customer service being the cherry on top. My new favourite Saturday treat
