Our room was absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. We were well and truly spoilt for the money we paid to stay here here. We arrived a little later than we had hoped to but the receptionist was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. We cannot find anything negative to say about our stay. The breakfast and staff were perfect. The grounds and location were idyllic. We wished we could have stayed a few more nights. After reading all of the poor reviews which had us a little concerned, we felt it important to give credit where it was due. This place is dated back to 1834, why would anyone expect 'modern' ?..EVERYTHING worked and was remarkably clean whilst staying sympathetic to its originality. We have been to many NEW 5* hotels that concentrate on decor and tech and still, we have felt it was not comfortable or worth the money we paid.

We stayed here the night before we caught a cruise ship from Southhampton dock. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Staff very accommodating very good food. Lovely comfortable rooms. Would recommend here as very close to the docks by taxi.

What a mad place! A big, rambling hotel that is casually kitsch and has a spa complex attached. It's a crazy range of mismatched decoration and frankly is rather wonderful for it. The breakfast buffet is WAAAY better than average and frankly better than a lot of high priced hotels I've stayed at....next time I hope the coffee machine will be up and running. I'll be staying again and the next time I do I'll be ready for the "Hunter S Thompson" vibe and will.enjoy it all the more! If you want something unusual and kinda unintentionally fun, come here!!!

Birthday Treat for me, sadly the beautiful building is in need of a lot of work. I am told this hotel was recently taken on (4 months ago April/May '23). However, the inside has had lots of work done and in keeping with its 16th century building. The lovely receptionist was so very helpful and kind. The room was amazing, very big and the bed was massive and so so comfortable. The Hotel is running as a B&B at the moment, so that the building is earning funds for repairs inside and out. Breakfast in the most beautiful dining room, with an amazing chandelier in the centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of choices for breakfast. Lots of restaurants in the area of Botley and Hedge End. By car five minutes, Southampton town centre about 15 minutes by car, but good bus route on the No 3. Will definitely return, look forward to the Swimming pool and Spa opens. Lovely gardens and Lakes.

Wonderful, charming, welcoming and I know I will return. On arrival Nick and Gemma, were the start of a journey to explore the refurbished and just recently reopened Botleigh Grange. A stately home/hotel with the atmosphere of a time when life was more genteel. For a visiting Australian with a historic connection to Botleigh, I was delighted with the beautiful rooms, quality furnishings and ambiance. While not at full capacity and informed that it is just a soft opening while waiting for it all to come together. Just quietly they are ready but who am I to tell them how to run a hotel! Ryan and Jake in the dining room were so accomodating and provided all that you needed and a lovely smile and charming chat. Breakfast was hearty and fresh. Everything you would want and more. Housekeeping were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Mark and Marina. All staff were refreshingly enthusiastic and made my extended stay both comfortable and relaxing. The gardens and lakes are a slice of history, so consider the effort to maintain this. Beautiful and in parts manicured and natural. My favourite combination. I can honestly say that this was a highlight of my trip and I wish them all great success, but not too much that I cannot check in, when back in the UK. Don’t consider the prior reviews, new management and owners have invested in a stately home and sharing it with like minded people. It is refreshed and reinvigorated, ready to be appreciated by the guests. There was nothing not to like. I loved Botleigh Grange and it’s wonderful staff. Thank you.
