On Thursday we visited on one of their popular Curry and a Pint nights. It was amazing. The staff made us feel welcome, the food was lovely and the hotel and grounds are so well kept with some wonderful views. I tried the beef madras. The beef was lovely. A decent choice and they cater for vegetarian. Will definitely be returning. Great value too.

Just got back from a night here and although it is currently still under renovation, we loved it! So much charm, character and individuality! The excelsior suite was lovely 😍 huge bed, beautiful views over the lake and lawn, walk in wardrobe, bath and shower. Every room has a different setting and personality, it is absolutely charming. The afternoon tea was to die for, scones were still piping hot when they came out. We were set our own table with beautiful views over the gardens. Dinner was delicious, the chef is a star! I can't reccomend the scotch eggs enough and my steak was cooked perfectly πŸ‘ŒπŸ» The bar man/server was an absolute diamond, nothing was too much. Even stood and indulged us in some history on some of the rooms, decor, showed us around. It was a lively touch and he was such a polite and friendly gentleman. Reception were amazing, answered every question and query I had. I can't wait until this place is fully renovated as will definitely be back.

We stayed at the Botleigh Grange Hotel mid-week, and it proved to be a really enjoyable experience. The room was really spacious, spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. Tea, coffee and biscuits were in the room, as were some small toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was great. We had our evening meal in the Restaurant, and although it was very quiet, the meal was good and so was the service. Breakfast in the morning was help yourself, with plenty of choice. Really couldn't fault anything during our stay, such great value for money and would definitely recommend.

Stayed here this weekend on a solo break. I thought it was wonderful. Very big place. Rooms were really spacious and clean. Dinner was nice and a decent price. Man on reception was warm and welcoming. Will definitely book back in when the spa is up and running! Only downside I can think of is having to stay in a room near a couple shouting and swearing at each other down the corridor πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ

Absolutely lovely time at the Botleigh Grange! The prices are currently a bargain while the spa is being renovated, and it includes a full English and continental breakfast every morning! The food for lunch or dinner as well is very affordable and absolutely delicious. The rooms were spacious, luxurious and very comfortable! Absolutely recommended!

So good to see this historic hotel open again. It is very evident the new owners have breathed new life into this. Great staff and food.

Did not stay. Only went for coffee and cake. The service was awful. We were the only ones there but had a very long wait for coffee then an even longer wait for cake. I joked that they were defrosting the cake (coffee and walnut and Victoria sponge). It wasn't funny tho as the icing on the cake was still hard. Wont be going again. It is a shame as it is a lovely hotel.

I didn’t actually stay at the hotel but ate on curry night which is on Thursday. The food was hot and delicious and it had a warm feeling in the restaurant.

Our room was absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. We were well and truly spoilt for the money we paid to stay here here. We arrived a little later than we had hoped to but the receptionist was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. We cannot find anything negative to say about our stay. The breakfast and staff were perfect. The grounds and location were idyllic. We wished we could have stayed a few more nights. After reading all of the poor reviews which had us a little concerned, we felt it important to give credit where it was due. This place is dated back to 1834, why would anyone expect 'modern' ?..EVERYTHING worked and was remarkably clean whilst staying sympathetic to its originality. We have been to many NEW 5* hotels that concentrate on decor and tech and still, we have felt it was not comfortable or worth the money we paid.

What a mad place! A big, rambling hotel that is casually kitsch and has a spa complex attached. It's a crazy range of mismatched decoration and frankly is rather wonderful for it. The breakfast buffet is WAAAY better than average and frankly better than a lot of high priced hotels I've stayed at....next time I hope the coffee machine will be up and running. I'll be staying again and the next time I do I'll be ready for the "Hunter S Thompson" vibe and will.enjoy it all the more! If you want something unusual and kinda unintentionally fun, come here!!!

Birthday Treat for me, sadly the beautiful building is in need of a lot of work. I am told this hotel was recently taken on (4 months ago April/May '23). However, the inside has had lots of work done and in keeping with its 16th century building. The lovely receptionist was so very helpful and kind. The room was amazing, very big and the bed was massive and so so comfortable. The Hotel is running as a B&B at the moment, so that the building is earning funds for repairs inside and out. Breakfast in the most beautiful dining room, with an amazing chandelier in the centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of choices for breakfast. Lots of restaurants in the area of Botley and Hedge End. By car five minutes, Southampton town centre about 15 minutes by car, but good bus route on the No 3. Will definitely return, look forward to the Swimming pool and Spa opens. Lovely gardens and Lakes.
