Excellent meal. Had the one of the best ribeye steaks I've ever had here! For some reason it was better than the t-bone, filet and even the Wagyu steaks that my friends had. Highly recommend the chorizo rigatoni as well. Generally, I would say the wagyu wasn't quite worth the price but delicious nonetheless.
Me and my husband just came back from an AMAZING meal here. Amazing very attentive staff, absolutely incredible food, and the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. We both had huge T-bone steaks and they were amazing. 1000/10 will definitely be back. A big shout out to Joe for incredible hospitality.
Fantastic. Had some amazing scallops (quite hot), the best seafood risotto and a lovely chocolate orange cheesecake. Staff were all very attentive and we even had a free showing of the flambé on the table next to us. Highly recommended.

We went here for my husband’s birthday and we are both very happy with our experience. It is definitely high end prices and we were prepared for that as we’ve looked at the menu and read the reviews prior to booking. The room is cozy and elegant but not pretentious. The service was already great initially and it continued to just get better. The host/server showed us the available items off menu and went over the expectations for the meals, how some are cooked, etc. We decided to order the mixed steak selection with the additional Japanese Wagyu, a few sides, and a bottle of Malbec. It was me, my husband, and 4 year old son and the meal was definitely big enough for all for us to share, granted that my son ate pretty well that night.
When our order came out, I was disappointed that it was overcooked although we have ordered medium. I let our host and server know and they were very kind and apologetic about it. I appreciate that they advocated for us and made sure that we had a great dining experience. They took away the platter and replaced it with a better one that certainly met our expectations. Not only did they served us freshly grilled steak, but they also served us fresh sides too, which was beyond what we expected. The food quality was great, although my husband feels he should have ordered the wagyu to be medium rare rather than medium, but the rest of the steak however— everything was impeccable. The flavors were excellent and I didn’t find it too overpowering. Normally I find my jaws getting tired from chewing this amount of steak but their steak was not chewy at all. It was cooked perfectly this time around. The rocket salad with parmesan was my favorite side, I didn’t expect much as I’ve been served really bland ones across UK but this one certainly did not disappoint. We are delighted with the meal and the service that we will definitely be coming back. At the end of our meal, they brought out a lovely panacotta and sang happy birthday to my husband. Please note the photo I posted is the first platter that they took away.
Ocean Grill is definitely not somewhere you could just go to on a regular, given the price range, but if you decide to go on a special occasion, I would say it’s quite worth the price. There is something about their service that just adds a little more extra to what they already offer. Big thanks to our servers and chef that made my husband’s birthday very memorable for all 3 of us.
Atmosphere and food were lovely. The staff when we arrived were very informative and showed us all the different ranges of meat & fish that had been caught around the world. The food & presentation was spot on. It got a bit busy towards the end of the meal and perhaps not enough staff to accommodate all the customers, we ended up skipping dessert as it took so long. Either way quality was good and we'll be back.
What a great place to eat. Incredible selection of steaks and fish. All very high quality and cooked to perfection. Staff all very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable on the cuts. Just can't fault it. After going all out on steak I'd be interested to try some of the more 'normal' items on the menu such as the burgers to see how they compare to other restaurants in Southampton. If the quality is anything like the steak platter I had then I'll be in for a treat. Best steak in Southampton? Easily.

Ocean grill has some of the best food I've ever had in a restaurant.
I ordered the surf and turf for myself, and the steak was done near perfectly; a lot of places I've been to don't understand how to sear a steak properly, and I can happily say this is an exception. The lobster was also excellent (I've never had lobster before, but I can certainly say this was a great first experience). My friend also had the linguine with lobster bisque, which he said was also excellent, though he finished it too quickly and was forced to sit and watch us devour lobster for an hour. The starters were also outstanding. I will add that the food is rather pricy, but your paying an acceptable amount considering how good it is.
The staff who served us were polite and helpful, and we did have some good banter with them, and they very kindly made me a happy birthday plater.
P.S. One very minor thing, if you ask a table if they want water, it'd be appreciated if you specify tap water or bottled because we just wanted tap water.
Excellent food and knowledgeable staff (they really know everything about what they're serving!). All the food was fresh and perfectly cooked. Friendly and upscale atmosphere, would be perfect for a special celebration or night before a cruise departs.
The service and the food here is incredible. This restaurant offers A5 Wagyu which is simply phenomenal. I'm not sure if any other restaurant in Southampton offers this. This meat is melt in your mouth soft. THE best steak I've ever had.
The dessert counter is also top tier. Pictured here is the pecan cheesecake. The cream cheese is wonderfully light. One of the best desserts I've had.
We had such a lovely evening here. Lovely atmosphere, attentive waiting staff who couldn’t do enough to keep us happy. The food was incredible & the whole menu is just so delicious…. We wanted to eat everything.
Sensational decor as well. I loved how it is decorated. It’s nice to see another top end restaurant in Southampton. The Jetty & Blue Jasmine are lovely but it’s so nice to have a third option for special occasions. Well done Ocean Grill. We will be seeing you again.
