Lovely meal. Two carvery meals and one from the grill but unfortunately no room for a pudding. So disappointed as the puds looked lovely. All really good and the place is spotless. Can't believe we haven't been there before as we've passed by so many times .... it's a great place. Really really good!

First time going will definitely be going more service was good, the food was lovely had the carvery which accommodated different portion sizes, this was spot on for all of us ( mainly my mum who is a small eater and my dad who loves his food �) and the puddings my god they were � amazing, can eat them in restaurant or even take them away so win win either way.

We visited with our daughter and 2 granddaughters and all decided to have the carvery. We are generally sceptical about having a roast dinner as they rarely meet homemade standards. However it was beautiful, the meats were tender and tasty and everything was lovely. We all cleared out plates and would certainly return. It was fantastic value for money.

The place was very crowded and we had to wait at least one hour to get our food. There was a long queue for drinks as well. Overall, the food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was splendid.

Very friendly greeting by Clare. Quick and efficient service. I saw an add on FB advertising the new vegetables on the carvery, the add made us want to go for lunch. We were not disappointed, the meal was excellent especially the veg, I tried them all. My only negative was I like my food piping hot and the dinner was warm. A microwave would have made my dinner perfect. Looking forward to taking friends.

We had a lovely meal at the Guelder Rose in Southport and I selected this pub particularly because of its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We were celebrating as a group of Guiders (Leaders from Rainbows, Brownies and Guides) as one of our number Pauline had completed 25 years of service and has recently decided to step back due to work and family commitments. The meal was lovely, excellent food, served with care and to a high standard catering wise. We all relaxed and enjoyed some time to chat and catch up and reflect on our years work as a Unit together. Thank you so much for making our outing together special. We very much appreciated your hard work and attention to detail customer service wise.

I hadn't been to The Guelder Rose since 2015 and was a little concerned it would not meet the high standards I remembered. Fear not! It was superb!. We had booked ahead as it was 6pm on a busy Sunday evening. That turned out to be a wise move! The ordering is a little tedious due to other customers debating too long over choices - get yourselves organized folks! Preferably BEFORE you approach the order point so that you don't hold up the otherwise efficient service and other hungry diners. The waiting staff were attentive and the guy on the carvery extremely efficient. All exactly as I remembered - a rare achievement. We'll be back.

The service as I ordered was quick and efficient. The food service was friendly and efficient. The food on the carvery was mostly tasty and well cooked though the carrots were very overcooked, texture less and tasteless and to be avoided in future. The portions were generous and the small carvery was enough for myself and my elderly Mum.
