We enjoyed a delicious fish and chip lunch, the food was superb, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit, can't wait to return.
We went with one of our grandsons. My wife is disabled so we needed room for her. Food was great and the staff were great too. Well worth a visit for value
Some fellow was handing out flyers on Lord Street for this place, so we took a chance. We are very glad that we did! Delightful service and outstanding fish and chips. We had the small special, which was just right for lunch. The batter on the fish was light and crisp, and the fish was succulent. The chips and mushy peas were also fabulous. There were more chips than my photo suggests because some were hiding underneath the fish. Reasonable price, too. We'll definitely come back here next time we visit Southport.
A lovely friendly place to enjoy a family meal in Southport. We have eaten here on many occasions. The Dolphin is dog friendly and Poppy enjoyed her sausage treat.
The food is always cooked to perfection and they have a vast menu, something for everyone.
Best fish n chips I've had in a long while.
Light batter and freshly made chips.
Popped in whilst having a day out in Southport. The ladies serving were so friendly and our food came really quickly and piping hot. Crispy batter, fresh chips and mushy peas. To top it off when my daughter had a small issue one of the lovely ladies went out of her way to help us. She absolutely didn't need to, but it meant the world to me to know there are people like that willing to drop everything. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name and she had finished her shift by the time we finished. I left her a small tip for when she returns to shift but I hope the owners see this review and appreciate what lovely staff they have. If we are up this way again, it's the first place we would go to!! Thank you again.
Went with 3 kids for lunch. Staff were really friendly, couldn't do enough for us. Food was ace and great value. Definitely will visit again when we're in the area.
Travelled from Liverpool to find some proper fish and chips. The dolphin did not dissapoint! Perfectly cooked food with a warm welcome as soon as we entered. Could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you for providing such a lovely experience. I will definitely return in the future!
The best fish and chip restaurant in Southport in my opinion. Meal good and well presented. The young waitresses very friendly and attentive. No long wait for our order. The premises and toilet facilities very clean. They also have a senior citizen menu which is more than adequate. An enjoyable experience.
Use to go to this restaurant when I was a child 40 years plus ago and we decided to try it for nostalgia. We was not disappointed. Went for fish chips and peas. Absolutely delicious. The batter was crispy and the cod was lovely. Good old fashion chips to top it of with chippy peas. All our group was overwhelmed with the quality. When we're in Southport again will be calling at the dolphin
I ordered a small fish special. The fish was fresh, the chips just been cooked. It came with bread, mushy peas and a pot of tea, for less than a tenner. It was described as small, but the portion size was what must placed would describe as regular. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Ordered 2 portion of fish and chips for us, and served by very fast enthusiastic young boy. He is very attentive and while giving him some tips the server girl next to the boy shout out to him to put the money in the *Tips jar!! Where i mentioned to him that's for him only. I didn't like her attitude towards the boy. I know there are some rules for place like this regarding *Tips but She could have say this after I left. The boy face quickly changed due to the upsating behaviour of the female staff. Otherwise food is really good and delicious as always here in Dolphin 🐬 😋.
