Southport Gourmet And Sushi Bar

This place wasn't anything like I thought it was, going by others views on the place. I thought the food was great! I've heard a lot of people say the place is overrated and not that great, but it's rare to see an empty parking lot. Service was prompt. Miso was super good. The portions are decent size too not too large and not too small. I had a sweet tea with my dinner and it was really good. They have a sauce that reminds me of yum yum sauce lol. It's bright enough to read a menu. Has lots of windows for natural lighting. A big outdoor seating area and plenty of space to move around. The table tops are absolutely gorgeous in the art work. I really enjoyed it and will go back. If you're visiting I highly recommend this place out of all the places in Southport for Asian cuisine. It's worth it. They do have plenty of bar space from what I observed. I didn't find the place to be your traditional Asian style restaurant like it reminded me of when I lived in Asia for a few years. The food is genuine and not over the top with grease like other restaurants do with similar style of food. If they would just fix the roads around there, that would be great. It would definitely add to an already good experience dining out while visiting. Just my opinion has nothing to do with the restaurant, which I'm sure they wish the roads were better as well lol.

Decent sushi but I have personally had better. Was good for what my sister and I wanted at the time. The service was spectacular and was super attentive. They were super fast getting our food out. I think was a little expensive for the amount of food we got(I’ve been to a lot of sushi restaurants and have had bigger serving size for the same price).

We loved this place! The service was great and the food was really good. We've dined in and taken out from them and both experiences are great! We were so happy with the food here that we hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner in their back room and everyone had a great night. The staff was so accommodating. But beware, there is always a wait at night because the food is so good! Worth it though!
