The Swan is a quintessential country pub/hotel in a picture postcard village. The interior decor is stunning with original features complimented by modern art work and fittings. The food is the star of the show with beautifully presented incredibly flavoursome home produced vegetables, eggs and meat from their local farm in the village. One 3 course and one 2 course meal with a Prosecco and local real ale on arrival and house cocktail during the meal with coffee for a very reasonable £70. A real treat and a perfect venue for a small wedding or special celebration with an exquisite private dining room and enclosed beer garden. Bravo to the chef and the attentive genuinely friendly staff that made our visit so memorable !!!
We stumbled across this little diamond but will definitely be back! It is so quintessentially British and a beautiful English pub, the food was excellent, the interior was lovely, right up my alley! The service was very good, an overall great experience. We'll be back with family and friends, can't recommend enough, you won't be disappointed 👍
We had excellent burgers and steak here on a Friday night, great meal overall. Returned on Saturday to watch rugby, despite saying they were showing it, wasn't on any of the TV screens and also no food available.
I would recommend booking a sit-down meal here rather than chancing it.
Beautiful setting, we had a private room for a table of 10. Food was largely very good, maybe just short of excellent - the competition in the Cotswolds is massive though. Great pints and service was also good. Lovely atmosphere in the front of the pub which is very traditional, and also a garden at the back for when it's warmer. Had the beef cheek, which was very good although preferred the look of the burger and the fish and chips which was a huge portion!
We had a great dinner.
The food tastes awesome. The service is great and always there if something is needed.
I would have preferred a bigger offer of local beers but what we got was great.
A lovely quiet dinner. Food was simple and tasty. Staff were fabulous 👌
Delicious and refined pub food in a cozy atmosphere! Our server Matt was very attentive and charming; he brought our food in record time and kept drinks full and flowing. Will definitely be back.
What a find. Never thought of booking here before but so glad we did. Excellent location beautifully clean. Staff amazing and the breakfast is very good. We'll definitely be here often thank you
Exceptional Sunday Roast with my partner in crime! A very friendly welcome met us in this quaint but professional looking pub. The Swan pride themselves on their home grown ingredients and it shows in their menu. A couple of 'sharpeners' were ordered, which included Prosecco with blackcurrant leaf syrup. We shared a starter of Iberian ham (rare to see on the menu in the UK) and fresh melon from their garden. We both opted for the Sunday beef and were not disappointed. Rare beef, home made Yorkshire pudding, home made whipped horseradish and fresh veg from the garden. Their extensive wine list caters for all and includes a couple of hidden gems (Vinho Verde and a delightful red from Willunga SA). We finished up with a pressed chocolate cake which was surprisingly light. We paired this with an excellent desert wine from France (Chateau Peybrun, Cadillac). A real find and a full 10/10.
We enjoyed a delicious meal in a cousy and special place. To start we tried the Burrata, heritage tomato salad, herb oil, balsamic that was spectacular. Then we had a lamb hamburger and it was so tasty. For desert we tried a strawberry ice cream that was delicious. I can’t remeber the beer I was recommended but it was great. I also have to say that all the staff was very very nice. If you happend to be in Southrop you should give it a try
Superb. Probably the best pub food in the area. Desserts could be a little more imaginative, but everything was beautifully served and perfectly cooked and the prices are reasonable. Service is excellent too.
My only worry is the unprotected candles on the tables. I twice had to move something out of the flame, including a sprig of dried flowers which had fallen over on the next (empty) table.
Really special pub. Classy clientele. Recently refurbished. Fantastic outside for a romantic lunch but has a wonderful restaurant inside too. Staff are good and a wonderful place to go for a special occasion. Not cheap but sometimes you get what you pay for in life. A lovely chav free zone with no piped music!
