This place is small but the heart of Jam Scott is big. Food is good as always has been. All is cook at the moment, may be some time there is to wait a little bit but food is fresh and pipping hot. Jam has always time for a little chat and he can open his heart and tell part of his life. The portions are very generous and the prices modest. Rose and I love this little restaurant. Thank you Jam Scott.

Nipped in for breakfast, super friendly owner took care of our every need. The cooked breakfast is one of the best I have ever had, massive portions needed a nap afterwards. My girlfriend baked potato with cheese and beans, with a very fresh side salad ,also very generous portions. She really enjoyed it. Will be back for more great food, great service and a friendly owner. Who does everything himself, foh and boh! This place is not to be missed on a visit to Southwold

We were glad we ignored the few negative Tripadvisor reviews - this place is super. James was genuinely keen to give his diners a good experience, especially vegans - we had quite a chat about it. He was apologetic about lack of non-dairy milk, but as we visited out of season, it’s really not worth him getting it in (he explained his overheads are huge, hence not being the cheapest place in the world to eat!). If there’s nothing on the menu you fancy, tell James and he will rustle up something else! Portions were good - especially the burger - you will not go hungry! James intends to move elsewhere in April. Good luck to him, he deserves every success! P.S. despite the slogan on the mugs, the coffee really isn’t all that bad!

Visiting southwold for the weekend we popped in for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed my veggie burger and chips and our dog was made welcome. We wish James all the very best for his new venture.

Really friendly owner serving lovely home made freshly prepared good. Portion sizes are great. Vegan burger and chips was really tasty and the chips were cooked to a golden perfection. Nice chatting with the owner too (and the coffee is good despite what he says!). Dog friendly too. Would definitely go back again if in the area. Good luck in the future sir!

Recently moved to the area & fancied trying local eateries. Booked the day before and paid a £15.00 deposit each. James stayed open especially for us. James the owner is not afraid to express his views openly & John & I found that refreshing, it's rare to have ' real' conversations these days! The eaterie is café style dining, clean & warm on a nippy sat in January. The food is freshly cooked, so if your looking for fast food mass produced DO NOT come here!!! James gave us a bowl of nibbles to munch with our reasonably priced large glasses of wine while he prepared our supper. 20/30 mins later a delicious enormous plate of flavoured prawns, noodle & veg stir fry & salad arrived. Yum! We tucked in enjoying every mouthful. Reasonably priced especially given the size of the portions. Finished the evening chatting to James & drinking crap (his name for his coffee, not ours) coffee, actually really liked it, but I'm normally a tea drinker!!!! Look past the ott posters at the windows & try real non massed produced cooked food.

Owner has a great sense of humour that not many would get but personally love. By far has the best menu anywhere! It’s very different to other cafes in Southwold, very chilled and just a nice atmosphere in general. Fully recommend visiting this place over any cafe or restaurant in Southwold!!

As per my title, the food was a tad overpriced even for Southwold. Just a note, I wasnt aware of the prices as a friend paid for the meal.

I like this cafe/restaurant. Good for a lunchtime coffee and bacon butty or something much nicer if you have the time or are entertaining in the evening. Something different for Southwold which perhaps shouldn’t necessarily have been seen as different FROM Southwold. James is a good guy, speaks as he finds, does a lot for good causes and is always nice to chat to in person. A brave move starting something new in Southwold which is a great place but not easy to integrate as a newcomer in business I imagine. The food is excellent and the place is full of good humour (if you get it.) I don’t agree that it’s the worst coffee in the northern hemisphere! (James‘ own words.) I’ve had worse, and far more expensive and not that far away from Prandium. I wish James and Prandium every success in the future. Matt.

We come to Southwold for a day out and we found this place by mistake. The chef/waiter was outside and he was very kind. We decided to stay and have lunch, best decesion in our life. Food was amazing, cooked at order and fresh. The owner /chef/waitress /baraman is an amizing man. Thank you so much for a great lunch.

Southwold after dark on a chilly Sunday in the dog days between Christmas and New Year was not looking promising for our evening meal choices - we'd not booked anywhere, which was starting to look like a mistake, and we desperately needed something to soak up the alcohol we'd consumed earlier at Adnams on their brewery and distillery tours. And then, we found Prandium. And James was persuaded to take us in and feed us, despite not having a reservation, because he was waiting for two far-sighted diners who had booked a table in advance. We are eternally grateful to Gary and Sam for making that reservation and giving us the opportunity to eat at Prandium on our all-too-brief weekend stay in Southwold. Our menu choices were simple, a burger of the day and a cottage pie, but they were worth the wait while they cooked - both were obviously home-made, not mass-produced, with fresh ingredients, both were well-presented, both portions were generous and delicious, and the bill was very reasonable - certainly when compared to some of the prices we'd already encountered in Southwold. Thank you, James, for a really enjoyable meal, and we wish you well for the future, wherever you end up, hopefully we can have the pleasure of dining with you again (we might even be organised enough to make a booking next time). Southwold's loss will definitely be somewhere else's gain.

We enjoyed our salmon, tuna and sea bass. All delicious. When I said I didn't want potatos the owner volunteered to give me an extra salad. Many places don't do that unless you ask. The owner plans to relocate in April. We will find out his new venue and visit again.

Lunch was fresh home-cooked and reasonably priced. A great advert for real food in a town which often can be overpriced with not great service. A real shame the proprietor is leaving. A loss to the town.

Made a visit to prandium on Friday 29th,was recommended by a relative, what a result, my wife had the battered cod and chips of which she said the batter was light and not greasy at all, with the home made chunky chips and salad the plate was left empty. I had the homemade cheeseburger and chunky chips with salad 100% pure beef for meat eaters it was really enjoyable and filling. James was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for any of our requirements. This is an individual restaurant and a one man band and should be supported. Long may he reign.

Visited Prandium earlier this week - we chose it because it looked different & was not one of the fancy chain restaurants. So glad we did - the food was great & it was also really entertaining chatting to James, the owner/chef & chief bottle washer. Would certainly recommend this place.
