Staying in the travelodge due to property purchase, eaten several times in this pub over the last month never had a bad meal.cheaf is welcoming as are all the staff. Will be a regular.

The chef kindly did us two chocolate fudge cakes even though the kitchen was closed , he sat and chatted with us as-well and really created the atmosphere and was a pleasure to be served by , i will definitely be returning as the Guinness was also beautiful. The pub was also incredibly clean and tidy and the tv quality for the sport was the best in spalding by a mile.

Was served by a lovely staff member who was very helpful to all my needs. Once I was seated with my wonderfully poured pint I was overjoyed by the feel the pub gave me. The interior was clean and everyone one there was happy. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely be coming back!

It was very quiet but I do like the atmosphere as I have been before. Very nice place and very nice staff and fellow customers. Do definitely recommend a visit if you have not been.

I've visited a number of Green King pubs over the years but this little bar in the town centre stands out from the crowd. Maybe that's because it appears to be an efficiently managed husband & wife concern. There's an L shaped bar to the front with a neat little beer garden at the rear. The beers are varied & averagely priced however it is the food that ranks this place. The chef (husband) is a really affordable guy (as is his lady wife at the bar) & seems to go out of his way to present your food in a thoughtful & appetising manner. That's half the job for me, an overloaded plate with food stacked up on it is an instant put off. I like to be able to see & access ALL of my food without having to move stuff around my plate & avoid having it fall off in the process. I ought to say that I visited the Pied Calf on a weekday in the early evening &. therefore can't comment on what it might be like at the weekends. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit.

Good food, good pleasant service but a little loud on the music side which is just preference, hence only 4 xs on atmosphere. Worth a visit at lunchtimes.
