Visit with a first date after we’d been in the Pantiles for drinks, it’s a great venue in Chapel Place. We took seats by the bar whilst we enjoyed cocktails & olives and looked over the menu - I was savouring the Ribeye to come The restaurant is well spaced, some tables a little close if you want intimacy there are others less so. Be warned the breads with oils are a starter portion but my date & I appreciated the on site baking & choice whilst we continued to then order a good wine, with starters & mains. Overall complimentary dishes for first courses won’t disappoint. So, all the food was a delight. Great starters & perfectly cooked steaks each, with triple cooked fat chips. Hosts were superb, Robin & all the staff. We then moved to the restaurant sofas to snuggle up over the rest of our wine. Look up to admire the glass Lobby style ceiling, I believe the place used to be part of the hotel. All told, Steak is far better than too commercial Cote which has lost focus. We loved it & so huddled off to The Wine Room to get cosy.

Decided to try Steak as we live in the town and have walked past it many times. On entering you are met by the bar and seating before the dining room. The dining area was much more spacious than you would think from the front as it goes back a fair way. We had a Fillet and a Rib-Eye. They were accomodating to switch the Carbs (fries) for a Keto Brocolli vegetable. Both were excellent as well as the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Ambience and staff were good. My only complaint which I left as I know folks are struggling was they had a 50% off Dessert or Appetiser which I quoted in the booking as well as the server but it never made it's way onto the bill at the end but the food was delicious and for GBP3 I'd rather they got the money. We ate early at 5pm so it was less busy and social distancing was easy. All in all will go back another time.

Robin was the best host and the girls who served us were also incredible. So accommodating and so attentive all night. Would highly recommend this place purely for the lovely staff! The menu is also really great, with options for vegetarians and vegans too. Electric atmosphere on a Saturday night but none of the slow service that this usually entails. Also, incredible location near the lovely Pantiles. Will absolutely be back soon!

Really lovely and stylish restaurant, all the food we had was absolutely delicious! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and all the sauces and sides we chose were really tasty! One thing that might be nice to see in the future would be some other potato options to go with your steak like new potatoes or dauphinoise potatoes maybe? The service for us felt a little bit disorganised, staff couldn't tell us what certain things were on the menu, we got given two sets of drinks menus and no food menus, multiple people asking us the same questions like did we want desserts and also had to ask for the bill three times. But to be honest these were pretty small issues for us and we would definitely go back.

We booked a table for 5 and were essentially given a private room which was wonderful. The staff are all new and learning but we’re always friendly and helpful and Robin ( the manager) was particularly attentive . The food was first class and this restaurant is sure to become a regular spot for us all. I recommend highly!

Absolutely amazing food and service!! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a lovely gentlemen that showed me to the table and was fantastic all throughout the service, thank you to you and the girls, you were all great! The tastiest food I have had for a very long time!! Thank you so so much! We will definitely be back very soon!! :)
