Wow wow wow, this place is a hidden gem and I’m so glad I’ve found it. Visited on Saturday for the first time and had THE BEST EVER eggs benedict and delicious coffee. From the perfectly toasted muffins to the eggs that were cooked to perfection to the star attraction which had to be the hollandaise sauce - AMAZING. I nearly picked the plate up and licked it clean. Give this amazing place a visit , you wont be disappointed and I for one will be back, very very soon .
Great place for a lunchtime catch-up. Have visited many times and the food is always great. Really recommend the daily specials. Quality food.
Tucked away in parade of shops you wouldn’t expect this place was well worth the visit!
They smoke their own meat, sandwiches were superb, fries for kids perfect, lovely pancakes, big old Italian coffees snd nice deli stuff to buy.
Proper service from old school Italian Gels and his team meant well definitely be back.
With free parking right outside, why not avoid the chains in middle of St Albans and treat the family!

I went there today for lunch being new around the area and decided to try their Jerk Chicken sandwich and i must say after the first bite, it is the best jerk chicken sandwich i have ever had and super tasty! Love the portion size and the garlic mayo makes it a game changer! Highly recommend!
Pretty good food from a hidden gem but with a couple of tweaks this could be one to be sought out... a real destination. Firstly the food quality is good and with nice bread choices (hey guys don't give me a slightly burnt toast next time...). Good coffee, nice ingredients and well done like i like them, but this may not be to everyones taste, so best to check maybe. The name Smokehouse made it not look like a cafe when i was passing, so I nearly carried on past... then the menu is a little confusing with too many options, people like simplicity, so may some set menus for breakfast perhaps....
Amazing place! We moved away over a year ago - today we were lucky enough to be visiting and called in for Brunch.

This is the best sandwich place in St Albans by far. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the owner goes above and beyond to satisfy his customers needs. Would highly recommend if you want the tastiest food around! Eggs Benedict is to die for and the jerk chicken melts in the mouth! Yum!
Nice hidden gem - wondered in just to pop my head in not thinking I'd buy anything but was so welcomed in and confidently recommend a choice sat down to eat. Quality ingredients put together really well. Will return!
Always a warm welcome, an absolute commitment to both make sure you get everything how you like it and genuine care that you really enjoyed it. I breakfast here, lunch here and sometimes work from here. Great for any time of day or occasion.
Allergies (I'm GF and DF) totally catered for, Gluten Free Bread, Olive Spread and Soy Milk always on hand. Unlike some restaurants, there isn't only a commitment to allowing for your allergy, also that a great and well presented meal is put in front of you.

I came across the deli when I had time for a coffee ahead of running a workshop nearby.... what a find! Not only is this a really lovely friendly place, they also have dairy-free milk and gluten-free bread - perfect for me. My coffee order was remembered when i returned there later for another! The sandwich recommendation 'the Greek' was so delicious and made so beautifully it held together all the way to the last bite. If I was local to the area this would definitely be my coffee place of choice
Very friendly and professional staff. The food is absolutely amazing, all of the ingredients are fresh and portions are good. Everything is priced well, clean environment and if you’re in the area it’s definitely worth the visit!
