We had a 40th birthday party here yesterday in a marquee in the garden and This place really is fantastic. It's a real hidden gem! Gemma was so helpful before, during and after the party and all of the staff were so friendly and efficient they made it all really easy. The garden is a great space for a party and such a nice chilled vibe. We had 70 people including 25 kids and they all had a fab time! The food was excellent and they were so accommodating. If you are thinking of having a party please go and visit this place as for us it was just perfect and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thanks all for such a brilliant day and night!!

Stayed here whilst visiting family. Have never been in the Cross Keys but would definitely come again when I am next visiting. The Accommodation was fantastic, large twin room with large en-suite. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast will a really good selection. Stayed for lunch on two occasions, the food was excellent the best I've tasted in a very long time. Would definitely recommend this place.

Perfekt ställe att bo, hundarna fick vara med, frukosten gick att anpassa efter våra tide. God mat och trevlig personal. Charity night race var en höjdpunkt för oss svenskar. Hoppas få anledning att kunna komma tillbaka.

A truly lovely traditional friendly pub. Many thanks to Gemma and the team for a lovely comfortable stay. My tribe are asking when they can return to entertain the bar. Jack sure liked it behind there - and all send thanks for the sausages !

The staff are fun, friendly and welcoming. Lucy who manages the bar at lunchtimes on a very regular basis is particularly good natured and we always have a laugh or two. The food is homemade by Lucy’s mum in the busy kitchen and her dishes are delicious and inventive. She likes to experiment with new and different menu items. For instance, she makes a lovely chicken curry, but then simultaneously offers an imaginative vegetarian curry using halloumi cheese, cashew nuts, spinach and mushrooms. Absolutely delicious... my ‘go to’ dish even though I’m not a vegetarian! Top quality pub food. Good beer, a large garden area and plenty of parking. What’s not to like!

Had a lovely time at this popular, very low-key pub. I last visited 30 years ago and I cannot see much has changed... Except the brand new toilets. Had a good, filling, lunch. The bill was very reasonable as well e.g. £9.95 for a big main course. Three of us shared basket of whitebait with buttered bread. Mum had (deep fried) seafood platter. She enjoyed it but it was a bit heavy she said. I ate excellent homemade beef lasagne: plenty of mince, fresh herbs and cheesy topping. Could not eat all the garlic bread, probably because we had overordered (!) huge chips side order. Very friendly staff, quick service. Small negative: I prefer condiments served in bowls etc. Let's dispense with plastic throwaway sachets.

Superb pub and very clean over night stay rooms...{I stayed just for one night} But what I was amazed with the most was the breckfast..I still think of it now..one of the best I have had for some time...

Lovely location and great character. A charming pub. The staff are so friendly and accomodating. Nothing too much trouble. As for the food - wonderful! Great full English breakfast superbly cooked and plenty of it. Went off for a dog walk afterwards in the nearby woods and couldn't resist going back to the pub for tea/coffee and home made Victoria Sponge at lunch time! Excellent. We'll be back for an evening meal or a Sunday lunch. Thank you to you all at The Cross Keys!

Stayed here for Knebworth gig and enjoyed a great start to our day with a couple of pints and chats with staff. Even managed to get a lift in off Rob the landlord. Rooms are clean, spacious and everything you'd need for a short stay. Great value for money.

Lovely pub- not a huge amount of choice in menu but the food is good. Huge garden with great play frame for children. Very dog friendly- perfect place to stop by after a nice walk in the near by woods.
