Mulberrys Cafe

A really lovely place with a relaxing environment. I moved to St Albans a few months ago and I've been coming here a couple of times. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty hearty. There are just 2 things that I wish were different: 1) it would be great if there was a vegan option (not only vegetarian) and 2) a milk alternative; not only for vegans but also for people who are lactose intolerant and simply don't want black coffee. I usually get the traditional or mega breakfast (and order hash browns as an extra). Some staff members have been better hosts than others, have had mixed results when it comes to service. It is reasonably priced for a breakfast or brunch. Never been there for anything else so can't comment on anything else. However, there is sometimes some fresh fruit tubs in the fridge which I've purchased for my daughter before, very convenient. The thick doorstep bread, lightly toasted, is always a really tasty addition and makes it stand out from the other cafés in St Albans. It isn't top of the line quality but it's good food for a decent price, so no complaints. Love it and would definitely recommend.

We always have a great time when visiting Mulberrys. The team are welcoming and the service is always very efficient. I opt for a full English with black pudding and it never disappoints. There are often a few tables outside; it’s great to read the papers and watch Saturday morning pass by when weather permits. Worth a trip.
