Had a lovely lunch with a friend there last week. Staff could not have been more helpful & friendly. Made to feel very welcome. Food was very good and atmosphere was great.

6 of us visited The Gate for lunch and drinks after a walk. We received a warm welcome and taken to our reserved table. Pub was very busy so glad had booked ahead. The the guys who took our order and served us were brilliant. Friendly and polite. The food was absolutely delicious and we had a variety of dishes between us. Sea bass was amazing as was the fish finger bap. One of our group chose from the brunch menu which is available until 1pm. Had the full English breakfast which she said was lovely.
Will definitely be returning soon. Thank you!

Visiting this place every few weeks and our experience is always positive. Staff is amazing! Is nice to see young people to be that positive at the workplace. Food is very tasty. Interior design could be a bit more warm but it’s just my personal taste opinion.

Went with a group of friends for the first time to this pub, as we aren’t local, lovely friendly pub with excellent food and staff.
Had booked a covered outside table due to one of my party undergoing treatment and unable to be in the sun, they couldn’t have done more for us once we realised an error with the booking had occurred.
And to top it off was able to leave the car overnight and they even had my sunglasses the next morning as I had left them behind me. Above and beyond and will already looking forward to my next visit!!

We were a party of 10 on Saturday and it was a pleasure being served by such a friendly and knowledgeable waiter. He had no issues with a few of our party amending orders. The food was lovely and we were all served at the same time, which is impressive for 10 people.

4 of us came for lunch for my nieces birthday, food was lovely. I had the most delicious "salad of the day" which had watermelon and feta and the friendly chef took the time to tell me how the dressing was made. We didn't ask for the member of staff waiting our table to do anything for my nieces birthday, but having observed it was her birthday lunch, when her pudding came it was on a big plate with Happy birthday on, it was a lovely touch and nice observation and good attentive service.

Not often that I do reviews , but for this lovely country pub, deserved a mention.
It was my mum's birthday and the Staff were friendly , engaging , attentive and great customer service.
The pub has an excellent garden with a simple but fantastic menu, that isn't too big or too small but offers a decent variety of stone baked pizza , chicken wings, burgers , sharing platters , good selection of starters , sides and desserts.
We ordered the sausage and mash , nice and spicy pizza and the cheese burger that was well presented and all tasted quality.
I asked if they would be able to do a little birthday treat for my mum and they kindly gave us a small brownie with a candle at the end with a few punters singing along the birthday song for my mum which made her day.
The pricing is absolutely fantastic for the quality and amount and I will definitely be coming back here again.
Thank you to all staff at the gate for making my mum's birthday that extra bit special.

Decided to go for a few drinks and food at The Gate. The bar staff were really friendly. They said that the inside tables were all booked but we were able to sit in until the booked guest arrived. Food menu gave a great selection. We ordered a sharing platter and it was perfect. Plenty enough for two people.
We will be back as the breakfast/brunch menu looks good 👍
