Tailend Restaurant

Have literally just left after having some amazing food. There was a large party of 19 of us. The staff were amazing. Very attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and service was provided with a smile. The food was delicious and if I come back to this area I will 100% be eating there again. Wonderful atmosphere and the whole place was clean and tidy. Loads of praise to all the staff that worked this evening, especially the waiters/waitresses/waiting staff. Keep up the amazing work

Best Fish & Chips, I ever had. I ordered a half fillet in breadcrumbs with garden peas and garlic-chilli sauce. The dish was accompanied by a small slice of lemon. The fish was fresh, not overpowered by the batter, and tasted amazing just with a squeeze of the lemon. The garden peas tasted good, and enhanced the flavours well. The chips were good too, crispy on the outside and soft from the inside. The garlic-chilli sauce went really well with it. The staff is friendly and caters well. The restaurant has a warm vibe to it. Overall, a great experience!

You can easily see how many other people have given this restaurant wonderful reviews, so it is hardly necessary for me to add more. However, we were so delighted by the food and service that I feel it is my obligation to say so publicly (plus, I promised our awesome waiter that I would). First, I need to acknowledge how wonderful and helpful the staff was. The place was PACKED and we didn’t have reservations (a word to the wise!). Nevertheless, they found a way to get us a table and made sure we were taken care of all the same. Thank you! Next, the food was AMAZING! I strongly recommend the mussels in the chili and garlic. Better yet was the curry sauce that we ordered for our fish and chips. I love curry sauce and this was literally the best I have ever had! I can’t really explain why, but I recommend you give it a go! Finally, the monkfish was superb! If it is available, order it! Because monkfish is still sometimes regarded as an “ugly fish”, I’m a big advocate of getting folks to eat more of it—plus, it tastes great!

Fancy a great seafood? If that’s what satisfies your appetite, then you need to eat at Tailend. My wife and I ordered the fresh Sea bass and whole trout both grilled style. The meal was fabulous. It was prepared with excellence, and the taste was delightful. If you’re in St. Andrews, you should give this restaurant a try. The location is close to the Old Course. The staff was friendly. I’d return and order the same meal. Really wanted to do desserts too but didn’t have room.

Lucky to have found this restaurant with lovely fresh and tasty seafood :> Grilled halibut is tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned. The grilled prawns are also full of flavors. And how awesome is it that mains all come with large portions of salad! The grain salad is light and tastes great with pesto. Butternut squash is nicely roasted. The sauce is delightful like sunshine— eggy but not as heavy as the common hollandise. The mussels are fresh, plump, and flavorful. (No pic because we dogged in right away XD) One of the best I’ve seen in a restaurant Food came fast and service was prompt.

Don't worry, 1st impression lies! It is NOT a takeaway station only!!! After entering, keep moving further back and you will be served with probably best seafood in town! (unfortunately they had non of the fresh goodies 🐟🦐🦞🦀🦪.. placed on the show desk when we where there) See the pics of our choice, showing excellent traditional food we ordered, because of our first day in UK!! Thank you for good service, (unfortunately a "better" table was not available🤔) We might will come again and suggest this place!!
