Rooms were fantastic, very helpful and attentive staff and a lovely breakfast. Quirky locals as well made us feel welcome, even the grumpy guy hogging the fruit machine . Any future trips to the Eden project this will be the first place we look to book.
FANTASTIC we booked in for the Christmas lunch menu on Christmas Eve The food was amazing, so much for the money , the staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. There were 12 of us around the table and the service was swift and the whole experience was brilliant. Well done
Had an excellent time at this room over a pub. Stayed 3nights to attend a gig but also a Cornish mini break.
Staff were excellent and made to feel very welcome and had a great time because of it.
Highly recommended.
A little road noise which is expected due to location.
Excellent, friendly, down to earth pub. Excellently kept beer. Nice clean rooms. Lovely breakfasts. Friendly staff. 2 handsome cats. No evening food, but staff are happy for guests to bring back take-aways and consume in the bar with the great beer. Win-win. When the beer is this good, who wants to eat out?
Me and my friend went to a concert at the Eden Sessions. This was close and suited our needs. We had a good welcome and the twin room we had was what we expected. We didn't stay for breakfast so can't comment on that. There was sufficient car parking. If we go to Eden Sessions again we know it's an option
Had a great time looked after realy well would go again
A nice pub with a lovely beer garden, good beers and friendly atmosphere
What a great pub! A lovely pint and a warm welcome always guaranteed here. It's cosy, traditional and just how a pub should be. The bar staff are so friendly, there is a real fire in the snug and a juke box in the main bar, so something for everyone.
Lovely room great facilities fantastic bath , could be a little more quieter in the evenings WiFi slow quite poor . Good breakfast for a little extra money but with the cost of living what do you expect nice staff good budget price for me at this time as all others to expensive .
Great Value B & B in Traditional Pub
We stayed for 6 nights in June and had a very enjoyable holiday, exploring part of Cornwall we hadn't been to before. This is a basic, no frills pub, with clean and comfortable accommodation. If you enjoy real ale, you've come to the right place - the pub is virtually on the doorstep of St Austell's Brewery. The landlord and landlady really know their stuff and you won't find a better kept pint of Tribute or Proper Job anywhere on the planet. They are also extremely friendly and hospitable. Lively bar, with pool table and a great jukebox. The only small negative is that apart from a great full English breakfast in the morning, they don’t do food at lunchtime or in the evening. However, they are quite happy for you to order in take-away food and eat it in the bar and there is plenty of food choice locally. We would certainly not hesitate to return.
It was a really lovely stay, the staff were super friendly, the room we stayed in was massive! We really loved it. We were able to take drinks up to our room from the bar. The breakfast was great too! Full english with tea/coffee and orange juice! Or you can have cereal! It was very clean and cosy! Would stay here again!
Large sized room and bathroom, bed was a little soft. Breakfast was delicious served by a super friendly and helpful lady. Was a great location within easy walking distance to St Austell town centre and Charlestown. We unfortunately didn't get a chance to use the pub downstairs but overall was a good hotel.
