Been on 2 occasions now with my partner who is disabled when going to the theatre lovely traditional pub with friendly punters and lovely bar staff would be a sorry day to see a true pub close
Use this pub before a Saints game, really friendly and all staff know who’s next when it’s packed plenty screens for sport and music fantastic beer garden and atmosphere. Very sad the local council have got their grubby mitt’s on it.
It would be a travesty to lose this little gem. I'm not a regular by any means, but have been using this place on and off now for nigh on 30 years. It's more than just a pub, it's a hub for the community. Ive never seen anyone overtly intoxicated, merry yes and friendly certainly. The local authority really needs to listen to the dissenting voices who desperately want a place to unwind and put the world to rights after a hard day's work. It might just be a stroke of a pen to you but it would represent the end of an era to the locals. Come on St Helens council, show some compassion. It would mean so much.
First came here just to initially use the ladies.. but then ended up amazing for a few drinks. Lovely Staff and Atmosphere is great. Well worth it .. Even if it takes over a hour for me to get there
Very good atmosphere. Live music was excellent. Staff coping amazingly with a full house.

Absolutely fantastic friendly bar... don't quite understand why St helens council wants to tear it down for abit a grass verge.. Absolutely shocking 🤯... This place is over 100 yrs old we need to keep abit of heritage in St helens.
I did a photoshoot there and the place is really nice. Also the staff is great!
went for a family function. happy friendly staff. clean tidy and reasonably priced. kids allowed 8+ supervised. great atmosphere. there is a pub dog that free roams and is not to be fed
Nice friendly local, perfect for pre theatre drinks, and post theatre drinks too! 🍸 🍻👍
Intimate, old fashioned pub, 160 years old, full of character and characters! Shocking to see the local council want to demolish it to extend the bus station. Sign the petition on 38 Degrees and vote accordingly in the local elections in May if you're fed up of St Helens Council destroying the town's history and heritage
