We were looking for a place to eat late on a Friday night and they were still serving at about 8:30pm as I recall. The welcome was friendly and I had a perfect Mushroom Nut Wellington, served with new potatoes, carrots, a little cabbage and delicious vegetarian gravy. Just what I wanted. The ambience was cosy and a bit old-worlde, just what we were hoping for.
This place is a pub at the heart of the picturesque Cornish village of St Just. At the time of my visit there were two ales available, both from the local St Austell brewery. There is a fair amount of outdoor seating at the front. I confess I have not tried the food here though the menu looks like quite a comprehensive array of classic British pub grub.
We had lunch and a couple of pints. Nice food. Not many veg options, but really tasty. Buffalo cauliflower wings, with cashews dip. was amazing!
Really great food here. The mussels in a rattler cream sauce are sensational. Somewhat pricey but it's par for the course for pubs in the area.
Delicious food, kind and friendly staff who are considerate to ward's people with disabilities (I have a walking from, so carrying drinks can be interesting 😁) Beautifully short buttery pastry on the steak and St Austell ale pie 🥧 ❤. Must try the food here.
Fantastic food, fresh produce, lovely atmosphere, great friendly staff. A lovely evening had by our party.
Fantastic food!! I'm not a vegi but the Buffalo Cauliflower was awesome - my husband traded some ham n eggs for it!! Delicious!!
Great stakes, real wood burning fireplace, warm vibes. No better place than this for a late evening drink in St Just
Great place, delicious burgers and good selection of beers, well worth visiting if your in the area.
A quaint pub full of character very nice Sunday lunch at a reasonable price. Very good selection of cornish ales, friendly staff which always helps. Dog friendly as well
