Had a great night here last night , staff friendly and helpful .. We stayed in the 2 bedroom family cottage with lounge and kitchen with our little dog ( even had dog water and dinner bowls about ready on the step when we arrived ) had a lovely walk along the cliffs and a nice dinner a bottle of wine whilst the doggy slept in the room exhausted from the walk ! Highly recommended would stay again ! X
the folks who run this place were awesome. Best night sleep since landing in Europe! loved walking the countryside. The Royal Benedict was spot on and very filling. Make sure you hide from that dessert menu although if you must indulge...the Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese sorbet is a real treat!!!!
I really enjoyed our trip to the white cliffs. It was a lovely place, full of character and had an amazing location, very close to the beach and the cliffs. The little town itself was nice, with a good pub or two.
The garden was nice and contained, good for little ones to stay in. One thing is there were some sharp bits behind the shed, but these could be easily moved.
The rooms themselves were large and although there were some small issues with the water pressure and drips, all in all it was a good stay in a characterfil location.
Really lovely service. We showed up before first dinner service on a Sat evening and they managed to accommodate us. All the staff were friendly. The dining area is very tidy and relaxing. Food was great (we had fish and chips, and roasted vegetables). I would have loved a more traditional roasted veggies dish (carrot, pumpkin, onion, potato etc) but that's personal preference. Fish was delicious.
Presentation was very tidy.
If we weren't just passing through, I'd visit again!
What a fab find. Was going on an early morning ferry and used as a base to stay the night. Booked a room with washing spacious clean and had a comfortable bed. The bonus is the bar. Served good food well priced and all served by great staff. Also had a good selection of beer, wine cider and other drinks. Happy to go back again
Partner and I came here for his birthday weekend and loved it! We will be back with others. Great clean comfy rooms. Perfect service! Especially the blonde boy/guy/man sorry we didn't catch your name but you were very hospitable polite and literally worked every job in the building effortlessly! We'll be back. + great location and yummy food
We had stayed here three times in the last year all before covid-19 started, and once post covid-19. The standards have always been very high, and nothing has changed! It's now a contact less checking in process and sadly the bar is no longer open
(due to covid-19 restrictions), but we still enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the very near future. I can highly recommend The White Cliffs hotel, the rooms are cozy and spotless clean, and they welcome dogs, which is a bonus for us because we dont like putting our fur babys in kennels, so they get to enjoy a holiday as well.
Such a fabulous experience. We will return for sure, it's already on our to do list. Genuine welcome. Lovely room with wonderful views.
Perfect bath towels; huge and fantastic, wonderful.
Great bar. Delicious food. So so friendly. Freshly cooked breakfast, obviously prepared with Love
Incredible food and incredibly friendly people.
For such a nice place, we were hesitant to stop in with our young boys. But we had just walked from the cliffs beach (long story) and didn't have many options. We went inside and braced for the irritability that might come from bringing kids into a nice restaurant. We got none of it.
Great kids meals that came out quick and gave the boys a head start (they need it) followed by amazing ice cream. My wife got chicken and I got steak, both of which we done fantastically along with great sides.
The head waitress gave us directions and offered to help if we had trouble getting back to town. All this for one of 2 restaurants in the town. A real find. Can't recommend enough!
the white cliff hotel is a absolute treasure, I visited for the weekend with my partner and it was the perfect place to unwind from our usual 9-5 children filled lifestyle. It has that warm cosy feel with brilliant food, log burning fires, friendly staff and a room that exceeded our expectations (room 1). great for all seasons but really brought through that Autumn atmosphere. with only a stone throw away from Dover castle and the white cliffs, a true sense of history came through. it's not only a perfect place for the romantic get away but also great to re-visit with our two children.
We arrived on a Sunday to the closest train station at Martin Mill close to 6pm and raining. After delays in Paris and a race to catch a train we finally arrived at the station. No taxi, no Uber & no bus. What are we to do?
We walked - two adults and 3 children...
After a while of walking and drenching, the wife decided to call ahead to let the hotel know that, yes, we are still arriving!
What? Walking? In the rain? With the kids?
Can’t have that!
Out grateful thanks to Jess for going above and beyond to come and collected us!
Now that’s service!
We arrived and what a gorgeous hotel. Very warmly and comforting with the nice sound of rain outside to add to the atmosphere!
Fell in love with our room and decided to stay another night!
Very warm and comfortable beds and rooms that are very charming.
Meals were simply delicious including the pizzas on a Sunday night and a great selection of local beers that I never finished trying all of.
Definitely a highlight of our holiday and would definitely stay and recommend here.
Thanks once again for having us and going above and beyond!
Cheers!
We lived in the loft with family and I really liked it. We have been to this hotel three time in the last 5 years. They are constantly renovating. Dinner was good in their restaurant. About 30 min walk till cliffs lighthouse. Nice church around.
