I was advised that the roast dinner here was good.. as i review a lot i thought ill read the reviews.. 99%positive. Right off i went..its oldy worldy atmosphere and decour its a proper pub. No uniforms only people.i ordered roast pork and was not disappointed. Loads of meat lots of trimmings cauliflower cheese ,cabbage, carrots ,Wow it tasted amazing .home cooked tasty well seasoned and a feast. Absolutely will be back.. 2 small negatives. 1 the waitress thru my dinner on the table and not a word.. and there wasnt enough crackling.which was so tasty. But the lady at the counter said .you should have asked me and more would have been brought.. overall 9.out of ten for food. Highly recommended.ive eaten a lotof roasts in 58 years. This was good ..
Excellent place to eat, been 3 times b4, always had a great meal. Today I had Sunday roast lamb, excellent meal and skimpy with the meat. Food brought out in good time by friendly staff. Highly recommended and will always eat there when in town.
Great outside space, in the sunshine right on a little square watching the world go by. Good selection of beers etc, only sat outside so didn't really see inside, that's for the locals. Friendly polite staff and the food I saw coming out looked lovely.
We love coming here for lunches...great service the food is hot tasty quality and quality is fab too.

Outside space is lovely and food was spot on. Fish and chips were cooked exactly to my taste so I was very happy!!
This is a lovely country pub with character decoration, bar and extensive outside seating area. For those in and out of the area I'd highly recommend a visit here.
Claire was amazing. She's bubbly, friendly and full of character. Her attentiveness to our dietary requirements was second to none and we felt safe and confident knowing the food was going to be well catered for...
Speaking of which, the food, simply put was phenomenal. This has been one of the best meals out I've ever had! A right little Gem in Stamford.
When our food arrived, it looked like quite small portions. But when we finished, it was filling!
The price was average compared to others.
Had amazing Sunday lunch today got to say probably one of the best for a while for taste amount value for money, will defo be back
Had a very nice lunch with my friend sat outside in the sunshine, chatted with some visitors to our beautiful town who were very impressed with thier meal as well.will definitely be returning soon
