This Pub has been taken over and has been done out very nicely, there is an all new great atmosphere with lots going on every week.
Went in for a steak tonight and it was so nice, home cooked chips, onion rings and the works.
We will be back soon for the northern soul night 👍🏼

Went in on Saturday, food was excellent as was the service. The landlord and land lady were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. There was a disco on later in the night and the atmosphere was brilliant, the music was just the right level and the locals were friendly and a good laugh. Will definitely return.

Recently visited the gate after bad experience with previous landlord-lady, must say the pub has been turned around and doing really well. Been tidy-up inside and out. Landlady and landlord very pleasant and welcoming. Can't wait to return when they have got the food up and running 😊

Good and bad news ! The old landlord and landlady have gone , the pub is being run by a lovely lady who has another pub in winshill . She's not able to do food of any description but she did say that a new landlord would be in the pub from " Monday 20th February " the pub would be back to normal and doing food ! Will definitely go back and do a review on the food

We got married yesterday and had our reception at The Gate Inn and we couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue. The food was amazing, the staff were amazing. Its a beautiful place with loads of charm. We had a wedding for 43 booked, and there was space, it was close and personal and just wonderful. Ian made our cake too and it was beautiful and tasted great. They are a great team of people and they went out of their way to make our day special. I know I mentioned the food already, but the food is so great that it needs mentioning twice. Ian and Stacey make The Gate a warm and welcoming place to be. Thank for making our day so special.

Great little pub with lovely beer garden. Good varied menu ..Can really recommend the scampi! The really friendly staff looked after us during our visit. Lock down rules were firmly adhered to at all times, Thanks to all.
We will certainly return to The Gate very soon and are especially looking forward to having the choice of sitting inside or out.

Came here off the cuff whilst passing and what a find! Plenty of drink options, decent menu at reasonable prices plus a kids menu. We had 2 kids meals plus a main and dessert each (burger and chips for the kids followed by ice cream sundaes - mushroom, broccoli and cheese Wellington followed by rhubarb and custard tart with ice cream for myself and lasagne followed by chocolate fudge cake for my wife). All food was excellent and the rhubarb dessert was beautiful! Topped off with being served by a very pleasant and bubbly young lady. Will certainly be visiting again!
