It's a shame that the prices over the last 6 months have spiralled far above the cost of other shops providing the same products. To be honest the quality of the food has gone down as well. Not just my opinion but friends have said the same!!! ....
I'm updating my post as I have used the shop a couple times since and must say "IT'S BACK UP THERE FOOD REALLY GOOD AGAIN"

The food at this fish and chips is wonderful the portions of fish and chips are huge and comparing the prices of other fish and chips around it is the cheapest, however the other fish and chips are more expensive and the portions are smaller
To add, all the food in this fish and chips tastes special.

We went to Happy Cod because our usual fish shop (Prince's on the Fishponds road) was shut and I'm really glad it was - because this place is much better. The portions of chicken are HUGE and the chips are generous too. The quality was also better than Prince's chip shop. The only downside was the staff's spoken English - which was good enough for ordering but not quite good enough for banter. But I'll certainly be using this place as regular chip shop in future.

We (my husband and I) discovered this lovely place two weeks ago. Great fish and chips, excellent taste, quality and portion. The staff is very friendly. My favorite place!!!!!

Absolutely delicious!
Our usually chippy was shut for a refurbishment for a couple of months so we gave Happy Cod a try and oh my... its absolutely delicious. Brilliant portion sizes too.
Unfortunately I've removed a star as the staff can come across as a bit rude at times, but that may just be where they're so busy.
