Friendly Service, road side fish n chips with countryside views, 3x Staxton specials large chunky haddock crispy substantial tasty batter, meaty white haddock flakes with tangy tartare sauce & a generous wedge of lemon sat ontop of a generous portion of what looked like thrice fried chips golden fried just how we like them, bread & butter, large pot of tea of £15.99 we added a side of curry & couldn’t resist mushy peas, curry very tasty & authentic chipshop style all washed down with a pot of hot tea, simply delicious a true taste of Britain 🇬🇧
Great Fish and Chip Restaurant/ Takeout on the outskirts of Scarborough.
We’ve been to the Restaurant here a few times and always been impressed with the quality of the fish and chips.
They have a nice air conditioned Restaurant with a free car park.
The service is very good , Darren served us last time and he was great.
My wife ordered Scampi and asked for extra tartar sauce- he brought her plenty ( 2 medium bowls of it ).
They also have salt , vinegar and importantly Heinz tomato sauce in bottles on the tables so no messing around with little sachets.
We shall return.
We live locally and haven't visited Harpers for a while. I must say that the friendly welcome and service from Darren was very much appreciated, making our lunch time visit even better.
We can highly recommend Harpers if you're passing by or if you fancy a short trip out of town for a delicious meal.
Friendly staff, lovely food served quickly (Cod, chips, mushy peas & pot of tea). I chose to dine in the proper restaurant, which is priced well at an area average. You could get it wrapped and sit on a bench outside though which would be a little cheaper. Nice to sit in if you've been driving a long way, that traffic into Scarbs can be a killer.
Came at 430 on Sat and got ahead of the rush!

First class, the food was excellent. I went for the large haddock, Lyn had the large cod we shared a portion of chips. It was that good after we had finished, we ate outside. I went back into the shop to tell them how good it was and leave a tip. Spot on will go back
Been here a few times now. Always a good piece of fish, chips aren't always the best. We had Staxton special which is fish and chips with bread & butter, tartare sauce and tea or coffee - not a bad deal for the price. Nice to sit in and relax. Would definitely go again.
We arrived late on so there were very few others eating, but that ment we were quickly seated and served. The food was freshly cooked and arrived quickly. We got a small fish each but it was more than enough, only get a large if you are very hungry.
Been here a few times as a good place to meet family in the area and directly in to the A64.
Fish and chips are always nice and tasty, kids always go with the sausage and chips. Plates are always left empty which is a good sign.
Definitely recommend and will be back again no doubt.
