Lister Hospital

Last year July 2022 I was admitted to Lister Hospital ICU. I was in a Coma for 10 days needing specialist treatment. Then discarged to Ray Ward for 4 weeks recovering. The staff and doctors on ICU saved my life. That's why 15 months later I am here. I am recovering well and nurses, doctors and physio are wonderful. I still attend regular out patient appointments and all the staff and doctors are exceptionally caring

I had a day surgery gynaecological procedure, and I cannot stress how impressed I was with the caring service I received from all staff - from the minute we entered the admissions unit and were met by a wonderful, friendly lady with a lovely Irish brogue, to the recovery unit where a friendly smiling face greeted me when I woke up from the anaesthetic. There is absolutely nothing negative to say, everyone was wonderful and I cannot express my appreciation more - I was so nervous, and they helped with everything, so I can only say thank you, and keep up the great work.

I want to say a big Thank you, from the bottom of my heart to Dr Vijayan who provided such exceptional care during my daughter’s journey at the plastic surgery unit. Every step of the way, your expertise and unwavering dedication has been nothing short of remarkable. From our very first encounter, I was immediately put at ease by your genuine warmth and compassionate nature. The moment before my daughter surgery was a bit of panic for my self and my daughter, but You listened attentively to our concerns, showing genuine empathy, support and understanding. Your kind words and friendly manner instantly put us at ease during what would have otherwise been an anxious-filled moment. We never felt rushed or insignificant under your care - instead, my daughter felt valued and respected as a patient deserving of undivided attention. Thank you for going above and beyond by promptly addressing all our queries and providing unwavering support throughout this journey towards recovery. You are indeed a treasure to the NHS. Thank you so much. The care received from this hospital was outstanding. All thanks to Dr Vijayan.

Honestly, reviews shouldn't be allowed for a NHS hospital. Its not like we look at the reviews and judge whethere to go there or not. Personally, i've been many times for myself and the mrs and EACH time it has been BRILLIANT. When we started going here, we obvioulsy got lost and the staff could tell of this, so what did they do? They kindly helped and gave us directions. 10/10 for this lovely NHS hospital and i have much respect and appreciation for this. Keep up the good work Lister!!

The NHS is suffering quite badly atm so please get understanding when you attended appointments and are delayed because of increased demand and staff shortages. I booked a blood test online and attended, my appointment was 15:20, was finally seen at 15:55. Unfortunately you cannot walk in and wait for a blood test and you would think that the appointment system would make the process much more efficient but on this occasion it wasn't and the hot weather made it quite unbearable in the waiting room.

Excellent care and service. Professional caring staff. Going out of their way and the extra mile for everyone. They were rushing around ,they needed more help. Was kept in and care overnight was top class and food was beautiful. I got specialist care, and have a treatment plan. Thank you so much lovely people.
