Been a few times recently. Sunday lunches are great. The service is good and staff are friendly. There is an extensive menu. Had lunches and evening meals. Both good.

Extensive Menu. Being a pub, this place serves pub food, with the distinction that you'd have to be a very fussy eater not to find anything to your liking, as they have over 300 items on the menu!
The decor is rather eclectic but it makes for an interseting ambience.

what a lovely place, full of old world character and lots of memorabilia everywhere. Food was excellent, served hot and very tasty (real chips aswell). Plenty of choices on menu. All this backed up with excellent and friendly hosts. Would defiantly go back x

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal tonight. The food was beautiful and well presented. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. I have Sciatica and in pain she noticed and found me cushions and made sure I was comfortable. A really lovely evening. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Lovely place, our go to place for a bite to eat. Really enjoy the food here, shame some menu items have been changed, resulting in a drop of quality. The parmesan however is very nice, especially with the garlic sauce. Staff are always friendly, however sometimes it feels like things are a bit disorganised when it's fairly busy. Great decor, music is alright, could do with adding more songs as it seems to repeat quite often. There is definitely room for improvement, but I would recommend people trying it out.

Went for Sunday lunch here , we hadn't booked a table but they found us one which was great as they were busy. The decor is very interesting and the Sunday lunch was really good at a very reasonable price of £7.50 only tiny issue is could have used more gravy but would definitely recommend.

Been awhile since we been here. The staff and menu has changed for the better. Staff were lovely as a village pub should be, welcoming and warm. The food was great ,for me it was better than the Derry and a better price. Keep up the good work and I,am sure you will do fantastic going forward.

Great food. tho some of our party claimed theirs appeared to have been kept hot. Most of us had either beef or lamb. Some even tackled the three meats! I can definitely recommend the spring roll starter. Tolerant staff who coped whilst very busy . Super atmosphere. Parking good. So popular, I would recommend booking tho for just a couple they would probably fit you in.

Best Sunday dinner I have had In a long time. So after a lovely Sunday dinner 3 wks ago went again last night for a meal me and my partner had a starter each then I had duck and he had stroganoff. We both enjoyed or food and couldn't finish it off. We did plan on going back today for another Sunday dinner but we were both so full still. It's very romantic and clean and fresh. The menu have so many choices. The staff friendly and welcoming. Highley recommended There is a little wait for the food but it's worth waiting for and after all it isn't mcdonalds so that tells you your food is freshly cooked and if you go for a meal you want to sit and relax enjoy your night. Thanks

It must have been about 20 years since I last ate, or even set foot, in the Sutton Arms. I remembered it being one of my favourite dining places then, but 20 years is a long time and places can change for the worse, and I was a little put off by some of the negative reviews, but I have a new partner now and we decided to risk it and see for ourselves. We pre booked for a Sunday lunch. The first thing I noticed was that the habit of having lots of old curios scattered around hadn't changed. The place was clean and tidy, and the staff unvaryingly friendly and efficient from the word go. The Sunday lunch menu was adequate and I thought very reasonable for a 3 course meal at around £15 each. We both had soup for a starter, it was chicken and mushroom and absolutely delicious. For a main course I had roast pork and my friend had roast chicken. Both were well cooked and served with mash, a single roast potato, a yorkshire pudding ( which was perfectly cooked and not even slightly burnt ) and a bowl of vegetables. Everything came in heated dishes or on heated plates. The helpings were very adequate, a lot of meat on both plates. The roast pork was excellent, very tender and tasty, and I was told that the chicken was equally as good. For dessert we had apple crumble for her, sticky toffee pudding for me, both very nice and a decent helping with plenty of custard. Overall, I thought the place was a very good modern pub serving good food. We had no complaints about anything and I can't understand some of the very negative reviews, they don't even sound like the same place that we went to. We would certainly return. On a last note, the gents' toilet was clean and decorated with some iconic posters and photographs, and, oddly, a single ski propped in a corner. There was also the remains on an old mangle under the condom machines, perhaps a timely reminder not to get anything caught in the wringer? Whatever!
