Turned out without a booking today on a busy Sunday and they had a table which was great considering how busy it was. Our waiter/host was a very funny chap who was polite, friendly and welcoming and is a credit to the establishment. Food was really quickly served and really nice! Would go again!

I called in 'on spec' on Sunday lunchtime at around 2pm. I didn't eat as I hadn't planned to, I had a drink only, hence the 4*. I was immediately struck by the ambience of the place. Despite being very busy there seemed to be a relaxed feel - on my side of the bar at least - which I warmed too. Dogs are welcome here which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I did go 'on line' to check out the menu and it's certainly worth investigating. Slightly higher prices than usual but this is Stratford, a tourist hotspot so that can only be expected. I will return.

A very warm welcome, friendly couple. Food amazing, location perfect. 3 deaf people came in and the gentleman even knew basic sign language to communicate with them.
A great pub great atmosphere would definitely revisit

AMAZING SERVICE
I've seen a few comments that this place isn't dog friendly - it certainly is!! They've got dog treats ready for you as soon as you walk in through the door.
Menu was filled with a good mix of cuisines and flavours - something for everyone for sure!

Friendly welcome and great food & drink. A perfectly cooked sirloin, with beercheese sauce, was just what I wanted for my birthday treat. Very understanding of gluten free requests, even popping to another establishment to get gluten free cheesecake for my partner.

Ate here twice. Compared to all the other eating places, this ticked all the boxes. Best priced, best choice and each time the food was faultless. It appears to have kept its heritage as a pub, and not gone too Gastro.

Absolutely loved this place. Staff really made it for us. A lovely dynamic. Good was great. Drinks arrived quickly. Best of all a lovely atmosphere

Can't comment on rooms as we have only been in for drinks as yet. We went in last night, service was excellent very pleasant and helpful staff. So much so we booked in for a meal on Sunday. Went in for a drink today different staff but just as helpful. It's location is good.

Nice pub with a good selection of food beers and seating. Service was a bit slow but they did explain they were busy. Not sure this really helped with table service and a full pub of tables. Food was nice but not many light/healthy options.

We were 10 Ladies from Derby and we couldn’t fault the Pen & Parchment. A big shout out to Sean who helped when we had lost our key, all the staff were brilliant. Great rooms, food and service. Thank you
