Simla Takeaway

Amazing hidden jewel of an Indian takeaway cuisine! Being a taxi driver in Stratford-upon-Avon I know what I am talking about! Some Simla customers come as far as 25-30 miles away. You simply have to give it a try. Friendly and professional people run this place of over two decade's now with passion and soul for their food!

We ordered the set meal B for two people. There was a lot of variety, two vegetable dishes, poppadoms, 3 starters, 3 mini curries, a rice and a nan. For the sides: we recieved peas pilau and that was delicious. The peshwari naan bread was standard. For mains the meat Pathia and the Tikka masala were delicious! However, the prawn curry was fairly bland. Also, it did not state on the menu that these would be small taster portions of curry. The tandoori chicken starter and the lamb tikka starter was very good. However the onion Bhajis were soggy and had too much of the binding flour. The vegetable side dishes were great, especially the Bombay potatoes. Poppadums came with a large variety of dips. Overall we received a large variety of food and were satisfied how quickly we were able to collect on a Saturday. Although there were flaws with a couple of dishes, It was great value at just £24 for all of this food. Would recommend this order for people who want a feast for two on a budget.

Just ordered my first takeaway from Simla, and I have to say I was very impressed. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and very tender, with lots of sauce to go over the soft fluffy rice. The portions were very generous, and piping hot, and delivery was within 20 mins - half hour. I would definitely recommend Simla for your Saturday Night Takeaway! *****
