Loved everything about this. Fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were so welcoming (despite being busy). A new favourite.

Good pub. Great food and a lovely welcome. Suspect we were lucky, just popping in without booking, as the seemed quite busy by the time we left. Worth a detour - and booking in advance

We were recommended this pub by friends and it did not disappoint!! The food was all grown locally and seasonally and was the best pub food we’ve ever had- most certainly the best pie ever! The service was amazing also- thank you Henry and his team, we will be back!!

What a lunch! The terrine was a masterpiece, the radishes were excellent, the anchovy dressing on the potatoes complimented the incredible breaded pork! The stew with a pastry lid (it’s not a pie) was delicious, the tart was very well made, but I’ve rushed through everything as there were two stars of the show. Star number 1: the coffee ice cream was on a different level! It was just perfect every bite was perfection like I just can’t stop thinking about it! Lush! Star number 2. The young lady with brown hair who looked after us! Wow, nothing was too much trouble service was efficient and friendly but not over the top, but every question we asked she knew the answer not once did she check with her manager or the kitchen! She talked us through the ingredients in the incredible pickles, she knew who baked the bread and how incredible their pizzas are, she was just ace! Thank you for an incredible lunch every aspect was top drawer

Dropped in on my motorcycle ride a month or so ago. Staff were vibrant and clearly loved what they were doing - so unusual! Food was a simple burger, but my god it tasted great. Recommended! It was quite, so I left atmosphere at 3 stars, but I'm sure it buzzes when it's busy.

Had a wonderful lunch, all food excellent. The cod roe and small green peppers starter was an inspired combination, exciting the tastebuds and leaving me primed for the main course. The sirloin on the bone for 2 was one of the best steaks I've had for a very long time. Chocolate nemesis pudding with a side of cherries was a deconstructed Black Forest Gateaux. Super staff - thank you Ruby.

A real old Cotswold boozer in the beautiful village of Slad. A range of well kept local beers and ciders, a decent list of pub snacks (proper scotch eggs, pickled cockles…) and some fabulous outdoor seating (picnic tables shaded by vines with plants on the tables and great views across the valley) make this a lovely place to enjoy a drink and while away some time with friends.
