Review The Bell - Studham

Been past here a few times before and it's always been closed. Last night had our first meal and was very happy about it. Wonderful place, beautifully decorated with an almost magical feel. Staff were very pleasant and friendly and the food was good. Mostly traditional style menu, lovely ambience and good selection of drinks. What's more to say, thoroughly enjoyed it, and will be back

I recently had the pleasure of trying the beef burger at The Bell, and it was absolutely amazing! The burger was cooked to perfection - juicy and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. The quality of the beef truly shines through. The atmosphere at The Bell is warm and inviting, making it the ideal spot to enjoy a great meal. The friendly staff added to the positive experience. I'll definitely be back for more of those mouthwatering burgers!

Beautiful location, this is one of my favourite places and I've only been once! The pub is lovely inside and out, surrounded by fields in a quaint little village. The beer lines are clean so the beer is lovely and we had the pie of the day which was Mexican with roast potatoes and veggies and it was delicious. Highly recommend.

Wow... What an amazing experience. Chef did everything vegan for us and taste was superb. Very nice local village pub. Fantastic location overlooking fields and country side.

The atmosphere was very nice, but had to wait for a little while to be approached. The waitress passed by a few times not showing any interest in new customers. But after she gave us a good table though. Again, food was expected nicer. The soup was really delicious, as well as the sandwich of the day, but the burger had a very plain and dry patty with no salt or any spices at all. So overall, the atmosphere was nice, but service and some dishes could be better.

What a gorgeous pub with amazing food. We had been on a really wet walk and then stumbled across this pub for some warm food. We felt like Jude Law and Cameron Diaz in the The Holiday! Cannot recommend enough.

Cozy pub. Staff incredibly friendly. My husband is vegan and the chef went out of his way to give him yummy options to eat, which was greatly appreciated. They welcome dogs too! Best pub in the area.

One of the best pub Sunday roasts I have ever had, the food was fresh, meat melted in your mouth, the desert was worth putting on those extra pounds for. The staff were so welcoming & friendly. Great pub, great food and great staff, throughly recommend a visit.

Just had a meal in The Bell Studham extremely disappointing as they didn’t have some bits of the menu, wobbly tables and poor customer service. Would not recommend this pub nor return.

Popped in today at 1.15pm on the off-chance we could have a meal. Pub was busy but not frantic. Had a fabulous Sunday lunch - 2 roasts and a home made pie - all served with delicious traditional accompaniments. Had to have dessert - served with their Mr Whippy (forget about the stuff sold from dodgy ice cream vans, this actually has cream in it!). Service very friendly if a bit laid back, but we weren't rushing anywhere. The bill for 3 mains, 2 desserts, drinks etc was incredibly reasonable. Think this will have to become a regular stop after a walk on the Downs.

A table was booked for my wife's birthday. We arrived in good time. The lady at the bar could not find our booking. She then disappeared on returning apologised for the delay as she had been distracted. We were then seated and placed our orders. It was explained that there may be a delay with the main course but starters would be straight out. Some 40 minutes later still no sign of starters and no explanation as to how much longer they would be. Enough was enough. I wanted to pay for our drinks and leave. Having explained this to the barman he disappeared. A few minutes later a young lady appeared and asked if she could help. Again I explained that I wanted to pay for our drinks. She too then disappeared . After another few minutes ( so we've now been there almost an hour after our booking with still no sight or explanation other than we're busy as to where the starters may be. No body seemed to want to take the money for the drinks. So we left. The first barman then came out of the pub to say that a manager would be with us shortly!. My response........ I left. What an absolute shambles of a place for service. Never , ever walked out of a place before. Needless to say. Shan't be going back in hurry. Surely as an establishment the management should know what they are capable of with regards to covers. I'm sure there will be a response of how sorry the management are and that it's never happened before Bla Bla Bla.
