Lovely hotel with amazing staff. Rooms were spotless. We'd have appreciated knowing that there was no lift, after the first night the lovely lady in reception kindly moved us from the 2nd to 1st floor as we were both struggling with two flights of stairs. We'll know next time. The only main downside was the restricted menu, the same every night and not much choice, with no specials. The lamb and steak dishes were delicious, but not too much we liked left on the menu after that. However, we'd definitely stay again.

Thank you to the lovely waitress in the Restaurant yesterday lunch time. Our family had a super lunch to celebrate my neices last Radiotherapy treatment. The waitress was so friendly and gave us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to celebrate. A very kind thought and we'll appreciated

Had a couple of nights away on travelzoo. Was well worth it and will definitely return. Good location for walks and surrounding area. Had small bites one evening and all very good. Breakfast was good full English. Bar staff very hard working and patient under pressure. And a big shout out to all staff especially Katie wot he smile and went out of her way to help carry baby buggy and bags to our room on first floor.

We had an enjoyable 3 nights at the Mill Hotel. Bedroom was comfortable, warm, tastefully decorated. Lots of hot water, large white towels, coffee machine. Lovely views over the meadows and Mill pond. Staff were lovely. Food is good, caters for vegetarians with various choices.

What a fabulous location this country hotel in Suffolk is situated in đđ ⊠from the moment we arrived to the moment we left 3 days later it was a lovely experience and a very memorable one .
From the time we checked in and throughout or stay we hade a very enjoyable time, the staff from front of house to the cleaning service and all those individuals in between involved in the Daily running of this Hotel were very helpful friendly and Courteous.
The hotel first impressions were Very good despite the hotel was undergoing a total exterior make over. (Our Visit 11.03.24 ) I was told this would be completely finished in the very near future and all finished in time for the upcoming 2024 season .
Check in process was absolutely fine .. âwe love a smiling face to greet us â Megan đ«¶đŒ ..
Our room was fine , clean and fresh with a coffee machine with complimentary biscuits etc .. room also has Tv and wifi (Good strength in room ) with a beautiful view overlooking the river and the meadows .
Service was very good including any conversations and questions (sorry for asking so many) I had with staffing in the bar restaurant and resection area .
Restaurant service was very good even under unexpected circumstances, and the food was above average and indeed excellent đ and with impressive views of the mill wheel internally and pond externally it made it very enjoyable, we also enjoyed one evening meal within our visit again it was excellent.
Thank you all and yes you will be seeing us again.
Next time in mass đ

Sprawling hotel full of character. We sat in the bar area with a fabulous view over water meadows in front of us, the old mill wheel revolving slowly behind us and a roaring fire to one side. The brunch was very good, you can even design your own using the menu extras. Attentive service too. 10% discount if you download their app to order - QR codes are on each table (nb. we didnât notice this until after ordering, so havenât tried it)

Beautiful views from the hotel. If you like nature and walking this is a good hotel to stay and relax. Dog friendly and delicious coffee with amazing terrace panorama. Short walk to town centre. Will come back!

Always come here for birthdays for afternoon tea. Great selection of sandwich's / cakes although wish there was a bit more savoury things, due to my personal preference. Great gluten free options too

Stayed a few times at this hotel. The last time we stayed they have removed the facility to register a card to your room and pay your bill on departure. So you now have lists of receipts at the end of your stay and not one final bill on check out!

Had an enjoyable family meal just after Christmas. The service was prompt and efficient. The food was presented well and tasted lovely.
Overall we had a pleasant time and will no doubt return in the future.

Lovely friendly welcome, despite the heating not being in, the room was sweltering, (not expected at the end of october) so we had the window open all night. Only downside to this was the room facing the road so traffic was an issue, and the bin truck going round at 5.45 was a bit of a wake up call. I would stay again, but maybe ask for a room that faces the river. But for a child free night away, it was nice to relax in the restaurant and bar that evening. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly, polite and helpful.

It is a lovely hotel in a lovely setting. We booked via travelzoo and that often means being put in the outer edges. We were put in a room I'm the cottage which could have been signed and numbered more clearly. Also as have sight problems would have been usefuk to have signs warning to the small steps inside. Room was small, probably suited to a single person bit comfortable, clean and warm. Staff very friendly and breakfast was excellent.

What a lovely place for a short break, our room had a view of the meadow, food was excellent and staff friendly. Excellent walks from outside the hotel yet walking distance from town centre. Thoroughly recommend.

The food is amazing, however the staff really let the place down.
I had a gorgeous meal there, and my family all had delicious meals (apart from my brother, who ordered Leek and Potato soup, only to receive bland celery soup). The staff however are really bad.
Firstly, all 6 of us arrived after booking ha reservation to be pointed to 2 tables for 4 people with a massive pillar separating them, meaning two people would be on their own. We asked to move, which was allowed.
As it was a Sunday, we had expected a Sunday lunch menu, only to be told there wasn't one. Despite this, another waitress told the table behind us about the Sunday menu, and they all received a delicious looking Sunday roast, which we all wish we had ordered.
The drinks came out really late, about 15 minutes after ordering, and my drink order was wrong (I had asked for Diet Coke and received full fat, not an issue I would ever bother complaining about though). We are not fussy people but one of the wine glasses was filthy and the waitress conceded that it did not look like it had been through the dishwasher.
All being said- the food was AMAZING and I would so recommend this place as the location was fantastic. The service just really lets the restaurant down. I would like to bring attention to an amazing male server (I think he had a beard but I may have been wrong), who was really lovely. I wish he had served us! He was so attentive to us at the end of our meal and I think he's probably one of the best servers I have ever encountered.

Stayed here through a deal I got with superbreaks, 2 nights stay with cream tea on arrival and first nights dinner plus breakfast both mornings. I must say I'm very impressed! Cream tea was lovely, dinner was superb. Got 2 courses, I had breaded brie to start and prawn thai curry for main and both were great. The room was such a pleasant surprise, we are on the top floor (lots of stairs and no lift but not a problem as both mobile) and we have an almost wrap around room over looking the meadows, stunning. King sized bed to which is good as my partner is a bed hogger. I would recommend this place highly.

Just spent ÂŁ45 at the mill hotel on an "Afternoon Tea" for three the setting is lovely but they've got their pricing all wrong (menu does not state ÂŁ15 per person) for a mediocre afternoon tea which was served on dirty plates. The scone was dry, there was two pots of mini tiptree jam between three of us...there was no "selection" of cakes, carrot cake only is not a selection...there were three finger sandwiches each, with hardly any filling in them considering the cost of it...we thought that the whole thing was going to be ÂŁ15 between us not ÂŁ15 each...considering you can get a roast for ÂŁ12 I believe this to be a complete rip off! The tea wasn't free flowing, the place was dirty and the staff were very inattentive...
Sorry mill hotel we will not be recommending or returning!

Had a lovely second visit, overall excellent value for money only gripes when we had cream tea our tea arrived an hour before the scones, but staff did apologise and we had more tea to accompany them, it was very busy in there. Evening meal was gorgeous. Will definitely be back again in the summer.

Myself and 19 girlfriends held a baby shower here today! Have to say, wow the staff were amazing and so attentive! Always checking if we needed more drinks or if we needed any thing in fact! We all had afternoon tea and it was fantastic, even offered to top up on cakes, Jam or cream etc! Also accommodating for any dietary needs last minute! Always enjoy going to the mill but today they have out done them selves! Thank you very much. X

My friends and I had a lovely afternoon tea here today. Fresh pots of tea, lovely sandwiches, a great selection of cakes and fabulous scones with strawberry jam and cream. Really great location too with fab scenery. I'd highly recommend afternoon tea here.

Probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Beautiful decor, room was cozy and had amazing views. Quirky bar with the original mill wheel encased. Will definately be staying again
