Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Today was an outstanding Cracker Barrel experience! We hit it at the right time, only 10 minutes of shopping before we were seated and the meals were all spectacular! Fried chicken and tenderloins were crisp on the outside and juicy inside. The cornbread and biscuits all you want them to be. Green beans were gone before I could get picture. Our waitress Hannah A was so sweet and offered a to go cup for my husbands peach tea- thank you for that! A superb experience all around! Exactly what the hype is all about.

I always have a good time at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. I love the fireplace in the winter season and the gift shop is always full of interesting seasonal knack knacks. I have always been pleased with the service and the food is great. My favorite is the Southern Fried Chicken very crisp and juicy. There are also over sized parking spaces in the back for RVs and vehicles towing trailers.

I'm not a regular at the Cracker Barrel and it's been years since I've been there. But it was really good. I had the Friday fish special. It was cod that was lightly battered then dusted with corn meal dredge. It was seasoned well and was cooked perfectly. It was tender, flaky, crunchy and moist. I would get it every time. I tried the hash brown tots and they were really good. They had a crispy exterior and tender and cheesey interior. I also liked the corn bread muffins and the green beans. Service was fine the prices were decent.

Overall the food was very good on this occasion, I ordered the chicken fried turkey with green beans and bacon mac and cheese. The turkey was great and bacon mac and cheese was amazing. The green beans were as good as green beans can be 😄. Service was decent, but I got an overwhelming impression that this location was very understaffed. Because of this it took an extremely long time to get food etc. I think we were sat around 12:30pm and got our food around 1:40pm. The server was very friendly and handled all of her tables very well, but hopefully they can get more help because this was honestly the biggest issue I think. We will definitely be back again, but probably at a slower time.

The Southern Fried Chicken dinner with corn muffins and two sides was just too awesome. Plenty of crispy breading with delicious seasonings made it one of the best chicken dinners I've had for quite a while. The carrots and turnip greens for the sides were perfect. Had to get a box to bring home my leftovers so I will have them tomorrow. So glad I stopped at the I-71 & US 36 & 37 Cracker Barrel in Ohio. Great location and very busy. The Bob Evans down the street only had 6 cars in the lot. I believe that in itself says quite a lot.

This was the worst service ever. Our server asked if we needed anything. I had gotten catfish so I asked for lemon. One of our party was missing her bread. We had biscuits but she only left one jelly. She left and ten minutes later came back with the bread, but no lemon, so at this point I was waiting 10 minutes to eat my main course. I asked for lemon again and we asked for jelly and we were all out of drinks. You would think, since I needed the lemon for my main course, she would bring it to me so I could start eating. But no. I waited another 10 minutes for her to bring it. We ordered a medium well steak and it was well done. The waitress didn't apologize for the wait or anything and didn't thank us on our way out. 22% tip on a bill for seven people only because we don't know if they have to share with bussers, hostess, etc. Edit: oh, but she sure did bring the bill quickly. The maple bacon baked beans were absolutely amazing. The fries were sad.

You can't go wrong at a Cracker Barrel. The menu has a lot of options and we have never had a bad meal here. We only had a short five or ten minute wait to be seated, but enjoyed looking around the store. We all enjoyed our meals and the staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere inside is always welcoming and being there while the fireplace is burning is a bonus this time of year.
