I came in with my daughter today for an afternoon tea which was donated by the family of a patient from St Benedicts Hospice as an appreciation to the volunteers who work there, of which I am one. All of the volunteers were put in a draw and I was so lucky to have been drawn out as the winner. The food and service was 5*. Very friendly and pleasant staff, who couldn't do enough for us. Unfortunately we couldn't eat it all as there was so much. So we brought the rest home in lovely boxes to enjoy later. But what we had was absolutely beautiful. I'd highly recommend this lovely little place, and will definitely be returning 😊. Thanks again for a lovely afternoon.

First time visiting today and we were super impressed! Friendly staff and were definitely spoilt for choice with the options! Felt like I had to buy the full shop to try it all incase we didn’t get the chance again! The Greek sandwich Was super tasty and filling, on a perfect baguette (super soft with that tiny bit of hard crunchy top). Cheesecake in an ice cream cone is a super cool idea and was so delicious , as were the other cheesecakes we tried! Top company and never want to see you close down!!

Very highly recommended, it took us a while to get booked in here and now we know why, it's very popular, a great selection of sweet and savoury treat available to eat in or takeaway, definitely 5☆ from us

Visited for a Xmas afternoon tea, booked and paid online very easily. The staff were friendly and happy to help. The food was amazing, fresh, well presented and very very tasty. There was refillable tea included and other drinks could be purchased if wanted. There was so much food that we took what was left home in a box. I would highly recommend as one of the nicest afternoon teas I've had!

Impromptu visit here and what a good choice. Our table of three had a dessert each and they were all excellent. Very good portion size too, hard to finish just one! Also had a Yorkshire tea (the best of course!) and a coffee and a coke. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Decorated well with lots of light airy colours and good quality China bowls, plates etc. I saw others having afternoon tea and these looked great but didn't have myself. It's quite small so I would consider ringing ahead to book if you want to sit in. You can get takeaway too though.

It’s a beautiful place, chandeliers and antique tables inside and out. The treats are beautiful and there’s something for everyone. Reasonably priced too! The gentleman who helps his wife bake all of the treats is so lovely and I admire their determination to make it all homemade. You can tell if cakes are bought in, these aren’t at The Sweet Petite

The best afternoon tea I've ever had! Took my Mam for her birthday and we ended up buying half of the sweet treats as they were so delicious! Highly recommend.

One of my favourite places to visit for sweet treats - it feels like a little bit of Paris in Sunderland but has the friendly service you'd expect of the North East of England! The selection of sweet treats is excellent and everything I've ever tried has been decadent and delicious! One of the few places in the country to stock the famous ChocolateSmiths bars too. C'est magnifique!
